Clearly, it’s not really Tarantino, who’s never heard of ‘editing,’ otherwise the posts would be longer than the Olympics
I doubt it’s him. It’s a prank. An elaborate one, granted. It’s obvious whomever did this is spending a lot of time on it. But something doesn’t seem right. Perhaps it was this phrase in a reponse to an e-mail.
“I met Justin yesterday in LA. Of course I remember! He’s a cool guy! He likes Sergio Leone films, too.
Considering how high-profile Sergio Leone is as a director and how famously he has influenced Tarantino’s works, would QT really being so jazzed about running into a fellow Leone fan? It would seem to me that he would assume that fans of his work are also fans of Leone and would not need to make a special point of it. It’s like Brian De Palma saying “He’s a cool guy! He likes Alfred Hitchcock, too!” An obscure filmmaker like Jacques Tati would make sense in that context, but Leone? I just feel that Tarantino only would have made a point of it if he ran into somebody that did not like Sergio Leone films.
Does anyone have an admissible reason for believing or disbelieving that this is QT? “Admissible” doesn’t include your opinion that it’s not, but an admission or denial from him or his staff in a reliable source.
