: Howard Stern says this morning that McGreevey’s staff called the show last week to try to get him on the air to talk about stem-cell research (McGreevey was going to say that he’d use state funds for research). But they got a call at the last minute saying they’d have to reschedule; McGreevey’s daughter was coming into town; he had a family thing to do. He was supposed to be on Thursday morning.

: Is it cynical to wonder whether this was a straight strategy? Rather than coming out as a “Gay American,” what if McGreevey had tried to tough it out with Golan Cipel? Wouldn’t appearing on Stern talking babes and boobs have given him a few straight points?

    Come to think of it, it’s a good thing it was Christie Whitman who named the highway rest area in New Jersey after Howard instead of McGreevey…

    The only boob is Howard, who doesn’t seem to mind that McGreevy endangered all of the Tri-state area by putting someone utterly unqualified into the Homeland Security slot.

    My own cynicism makes me think McGreevey’s administration must stink to high heaven up close. His portrayal of injured-one coming out is shameful, and the collateral damage to the GLBT movement toward the status of citizenship in this land of the free must be answered.
    This was the first I’d heard of Golan Cipel … sounds like an Israeli version of Dubbaya to me. (Perhaps that means he’ll be back?) McGreevey’s a disgrace to the Democratic Party.
    How does NJ choose a replacement in this case?
