The fools

The fools

: Howard Stern this morning is playing the self-congratulatory babble of the congressmen who kneecapped the First Amendment yesterday. They are obnoxious in their foolish pride. “We’re one step away from burning books,” Howard says.

Jeff your arguments are so much better and sound more intelligent when you don’t quote from Howard Stern. He is not a fighter for free speech, he is only concerned with himself and his money.

here in america, mike, most of us believe that everyone deserves freedom of speech.
and yes don, gas was being passed.

I like Stern, but he always lapses into whiny hyperbole with this issue. The valid arguments he has (increasing penalties for hard to define transgressions is a bad thing) are much less effective with ludicrous statements like we’re “one step away from burning books”.
    Oh, and F Jackie.

Thanks for the tip tony. Good thing you’re hear to inform me, I hardly think my post had anything to do with denying Howard his free speech. It’s my opinion that citing Howard and the ridiculous statement that were one step away from burning books does more to weaken your argument than strengthen it.
McCain/Feingold is a far better issue to decry about the violation of free speech.

And I know McCain/Feingold doesn’t have much to do with the FCC.

We’re one step away from burning books,” Hoawrd says.
Is that what Hoawrd [sic] says? It’s a good thing that he’s keeping his rhetoric grounded and not being overly histrionic or anything. That’s always a really effective technique for getting people on your side. You know, follow the Michael Moore/Howard Dean playbook.
