On second thought

: Henry Copeland catches a change in the headline on The NY Times’ post-Jordan blog story:

Earlier today, the NYT’s headline read “Bloggers as News Media Trophy Hunters”… now the headline is “Resignation at CNN Shows the Growing Influence of Blogs”…

The Times loves to do things like this, I’ve noticed.

Yep, and in fact, this practice can lead to multiple headlines for the same article on my automated site. E.g., for the two NYT headlines, I have both

    and
    http://www.memeorandum.com/05/02/14/#nyt–resignation_at_cnn_shows_the_growing_influence_of_blogs
I hope to avoid this via a software fix eventually, but on the other hand, this is one way to document these shenanigans.

Were the editors being childish or serious? Hard to tell with the Times these days. They seem so unsteady lately. Why might that be?
