Of course, who you urge your voter to support is entirely up to you.
Yeah, the above is what it says. Does this mean urging the voters to vote for Kerry? Would you please show where it asks its readers to urge “Ohio voters to vote for Kerry”?
Clarified.
Faramin, according to command-post.org:
To gauge the neutrality of the campaign, some quotes from the example letters the Guardian has thoughtfully provided :
[1] While Bush was waging his father
So happy to have and exercise the power to act as the world’s polcieman, but annoyed at being held accountable for the actions that impact everyone’s lives on this planet.
I don’t want my country to be the world’s policeman. Let the EU or the UN do it.
“Go to their site; get a name; and ask them to write in Tony Blair.”
Tony? Nah. Tim!
I’m not happy to have the U.S. serve as the world’s policeman either, but if the United Nations will not face up to its responsibilities… no, does not recognize its responnsibilities… then perhaps they can be shown by example… shamed into it by example.
Now how many mass graves have been dug up in Iraq? In Kosovo? In Rwanda? And soon to be Sudan? And where were those Oil-For-Food bribes going? And which Secretary General’s son worked for the suspect Oil-For-Food company? I’ll not go on.
Here’s a meme that’s been getting some juice over here in Europe:
“The U.S. Election affects me (and countless other non-American millions) yet I am (we are) not allowed to vote in it. IT’S NOT FAIR!!!!!!!!!!!”
Same wooly thinking that huffs n’ puffs the moral sanctity of “International Law”.
Yes Hugh, thanks for that.
Please be advised that Faramin, who was very quick to ‘call’ Jeff at the beginning of this thread, purports to be a ‘legal’ Canadian citizen and also an Iranian (that part I believe). If it is all true I don’t have a problem with the fact of his international status. However, I do have several problems with his demonization of the U.S., and his sympathetic stance (that is truly an understatement) vis a vis radical Islam, although he claims to be non-Muslim.
Please note his comments on this site on October 9th under the thread “The Will to Live”, as well as at his own blog site: http://humanfirstthenproudiranian.blogspot.com/
The internet is full of ‘interested observers’. Faramin, in my opinion, has other fish to fry.
That cuts both ways, Franky. The world is often happy to have us as their policeman, when it means that we’re making the sacrifices, giving the money, and giving the lives.
We’re the ones already held to account when things go wrong. When’s the last time you’ve heard any world crisis blamed on the foreign policy of Belgium? When’s the last time the leftists of the world acknowledged the poverty and unemployment that their policies engender?
I know that this sort of thing feeds into a certain type of Carteresque self-loathing, complete with “world polls” that show the “rest of the world” is “smarter” than us (read: leftist polls polling primarily leftist citizens, basically a paper version of earlier anti-war marches), but to the rest of us, this is what it is: a nauseating attempt at interfering with another people’s elections.
I find it especially repugnant that somebody tries to twist around our own sacrifices as an excuse for us to be lorded over by other nations.
Eileen,
As I said before you need professional help.
By reading my comments and your BS in the same thread every body can see that you are an intolerant liar, a cheap anti-democratic liar with a toch of fascism. I, in fact invite everybody to read the entire exchanges in that thread where apparently I made you and couple of your like-minded look stupid. Hey, I’m sorry if you misunderstood; It wasn’t entirely me who did that to you, it was you yourself who made a fool of self; I just helped you get there faster.
As I said, I never hide my views, as it is my right to express them and I have no intention of changing them to make a semi-fascist like you happy. But what you said about me there and still say here, is nothing but bunch of lies from a bitter looser. You accuse me of having
….sympathetic stance (that is truly an understatement) vis a vis radical Islam,..?
Right or wrong, blaming the current US administration for the growth of Islamic fundamentalism, is called (in your dictionary) sympathetic stance towards radical islam? How dumb can you get?
You are still bitter about that. And I understand that. After all, you and your BS was trashed, partly by me and mostly by yourself. About my part, I will be glad to that anytime. Let me know whenever you get bored.
Hey, it is not my fault if you are not very smart. Angry again? Good!
Franky–if you want to vote, ask Canada to apply for statehood. The US might let them in.
Then you can vote. Otherwise mind your own business–only Michael Moore interfered in your elections and he’s just a fat idiot. You can’t judge mental midgets harshly.
Wow, more like Feralman!
Franky’s Canadian?
To further ‘clarify’ Faramin’s interests re the election:
I just perused his blog site (above) and SURPRISE, he has once again lifted the current topic – demonizing you, Jeff, in the process. [Faramin also copied your October 9th ‘The Will to Live’ topic…and etc.]
I guess mimicry is the highest form of idolatry, unless motivation is skewed.
Here’s a topic for you: do terrorists have 1st amendment free speech rights in the U.S.?
I don’t want my country to be the world’s policeman. Let the EU or the UN do it.
The problem with ‘letting’ the UN do it is that the UN can’t do it without our help. Your position would merely result in them being in charge and us doing the work.
The problem with ‘letting’ the EU do it is that the EU can’t do it without our help. Your position would merely result in them being in charge and us doing the work.
The difference between the two is that the EU has the potential of someday being able to do it without our help, if they decide to cut way back on social spending and pick way up on military spending.
In my view it’s more likely that Klaatu will drop off a Gort to watch over us all first.
Ptolemy,
Beleive me no one is more surprised than me.
Carsonfire,
“When’s the last time the leftists of the world acknowledged the poverty and unemployment that their policies engender?”
When was the last time the rightists acknowledged the poverty and unemployment that their policies engender?
What is particularly stiking about this observation is that it is not consistent with any of your core political beleifs. You don’t believe me in welfare (please correct me if I’m wrong on this), because you believe that it is a disincentive to work, yet you abandon that ethic to support galavanting around the world to “liberate” the Iraqis.
“When’s the last time you’ve heard any world crisis blamed on the foreign policy of Belgium?”
Well there’s a simple reason for that – Belgium doesn’t cause that many foreign policy crisises.
Eileen,
Seems like you can’t sleep because of me. Is it out of love? Too late, I am married.
[Faramin also copied your October 9th ‘The Will to Live’ topic…and etc.]
Another lie? No, I didn’t! But it would have been a good idea to post the whole thread to show how much people like you suffer from mental illness who are threats to the civil society.
However, since your communication skill, in ENGLISH ;-), is weak, you might have meant that I had similar topic on October 9. The one that titled as: “Let’s wish for a better world” in part of which it is said:
With whatever political view that you might have, please join me in giving our condolences to Mr. Biegly’s family, especially to his 86 year old mother who like many other mothers who have lost their loved ones, is now in state of shock. Please join me to demand peace; a fair and humane peace in which the true rights of individuals and nations are respected. Join me in wishing for a fair end to violence and for the time when no more life is perished. Join me in … .
There is nothing wrong in wishing for humane relations between human beings, even if it seems far away from the reality, for now.
You have problem with this too? Too bad, because I don’t care.
Faramin, I know your idea of a better world–one world under allah, and I don’t want one huge sewer on earth. Your idea of a better world is the worst kind of world possible–devoid of little white people. No Jews, no Americans. Islamofascism at its worst.
Yes kat,
The big corporations also see my idea of “a better world” as “worst kind of world possible” and you are effectively only a tool in their hands, and they are using you and your type to its highest level possible. It’s all because you are just too d**b to realize what you are doing.
How do you know my idea of a better world? Is it anything other than my words here and there? Do you know me personally to recognize how “evil” I am? How much do you know about me, except from what I write?
But “one world under allh”? At least YOU have been told tens of times that allah or any other religious icon or idealogy is not my objective AT ALL. But you insist in showing that you are not very smart byu repeating your non-sense over and over again. You don’t need to insist on this Kat; It is alreday an established fact. You can take a rest. ;-)
Has Karl Rove hijacked the Guardian newsroom?
This stunt, as the letters roll in, can only result in one reaction…disgust at the attempted influence from abroad, and a shift towards you-know-who.
This will go over as well as the Nader vote trading scheme from ’00.
Heh. Looks like they’ve exhausted the list of Clark County voters….
I think Joe is right: this will probably backfire.
Can we avoid having another thread hijacked as people launch personal attacks against Faramin? You want to insult him, at least pretend to connect it to the thread where you are posting.
looks like they’re all out of registered voters in clarke county.
The thread, Franky, concerns non-U.S. citizens attempting to interfere with our elections. If non-U.S. citizens wish to comment here about the propriety of those actions, should they reveal their own countries of origin in the process? Is it important to understand what extra-U.S. biases you and Faramin hold as you express yourselves? Might the fact that you aren’t American help to explain why YOU might wish to hijack the thread to instead trash the U.S.?
Is it important for anyone reading these posts to understand Faramin’s intense hatred for the U.S., Jews, and Americans like me who call him on his games, including his hijacking of the entire blog site? As he ‘corrects’ Jeff, he simultaneously steals the thread and trashes Jeff on his own site. And anyone who doesn’t agree with his fanaticism is d**b, doesn’t speak English, or is crazy.
I have a great deal of respect for hugh macleod, who indicated he was posting from Europe, and then gave a European perspective on the elections.
I fail to see how any remarks you’ve made here have anything to do with the thread other than your agreement with Joe.
Franky: What is particularly stiking about this observation is that it is not consistent with any of your core political beleifs. You don’t believe me in welfare (please correct me if I’m wrong on this),
Bingo! You’ve assumed that I’m some stereotype you have of a conservative Republican, or perhaps even “neoconservative”. I’m an independent with economic leanings both conservative and liberal, and social leanings both conservative and liberal. I self identify as “right wing” because it makes it easier for folks like you, for whom some certain disagreements are political heresy. I believe in tax-cuts and limits on abortion, therefore any liberal tendencies I have elsewhere are inconsequential. But I probably am closely related to what some have labelled “Southpark Republicans”.
because you believe that it is a disincentive to work, yet you abandon that ethic to support galavanting around the world to “liberate” the Iraqis.
I don’t fall into the trap that some social protections are “limited socialism” and hence expanded socialism is good. Social protections are just that, and should be meted out carefully. From that standpoint, I applauded the welfare reform that, in bipartisan fashion, was championed by Newt Gingrich and signed by Bill Clinton (to the chagrin of his supporters at the time, although they like to take full credit now — for the simple reason that the limits worked, and welfare was restored as social protection, instead of as an alternate path). Social protections are necessary and reasonable, when they are administered reasonably. So, no, I am not *against* welfare, although I believe too much free access to other people’s money *is* a disincentive to be productive. Nuanced enough?
As for Iraq, I remember the keen disappointment of the Iraqi people after we first pulled out and left Saddam in power. George H W Bush’s hands were tied, though, because of the limits imposed by him by the coalition, so all he could do was urge the Iraqis to rise on their own. This is also why it was right that the current coalition features members most interested in doing the right thing, and not those whose interests are against a free Iraq.
Not only do I think it was right for us to go in, I think we had a duty to do so. The weapons inspection games, the oil-for-food scandal, all of that mess was just a continuation of the dark shadows that interfered with the Iraqi’s liberation in the first place.
Now, what all this has to do with leftists in Britain trying to influence our elections, I’ve lost track of. I can’t imagine having the chutzpah to write emails to Britons telling them how to run their country. Similarly, it was wrong for any relative of Kerry’s to run around Australia before their election, trying to persuade Aussies to knife us in the back.
The bright spot in this is that Americans resent this sort of thing; the more emails they get from international leftists for Kerry, the more likely they are to mark their ballot for Bush.
“When’s the last time you’ve heard any world crisis blamed on the foreign policy of Belgium?”
Well there’s a simple reason for that – Belgium doesn’t cause that many foreign policy crisises.
OK, maybe more to the point: how much outcry over France’s incompetence in Africa? And previously, how much world complaint when the Soviet Union just simply bullied into wherever they pleased? There was never a *fraction* of the outcry over actual, purposeful Soviet encroachment as there has been over this attempt to right wrongs in Iraq.
The answer is simple: the world’s leftists, and by that, I should be even more specific and say “leftists who prefer socialism”, who now organize the anti-war protests and all of the “entire world prefers Kerry” polls, were cheering the Soviet on.
I know from a previous response of yours, that you’ll probably try to whip out the “commie scare” argument, which is nonsense. Soviet encroachment was real and measurable.
Or how about China and the Darfur crisis? We just sit back and not say a word and in another month the death toll will be 80,000, but let’s appease the Chinese and not criticize their atrocities within and without. Leftists love Communist countries like China, regardless of the genocides. They call it peace and prefer genocide to war.
{China is trying to stop the United Nations imposing sanctions on Sudan over the crisis in the Darfur regionto protect its oil imports from the country, say western diplomats.
For the past six years Beijing has been the Sudanese government’s main backer, buying 70 per cent of its exports, servicing its $20bn debt and supplying the Khartoum government with most of its weapons.
Beijing oil imports jumped 35 per cent this year and its reliance on a growing number of rogue states to meet its needs is putting it on a collision course with the United States. Sudan and Iran together supply 20 per cent of China’s oil imports, and if economic sanctions were applied to either, Beijing would be unable to sustain its high growth rates.}
Another reason why multilateral diplomacy via the UN is unlikely to address either problem.

Eileen,
Is it important for anyone reading these posts to understand Faramin’s intense hatred for the U.S., Jews, and Americans like me who call him on his games, including his hijacking of the entire blog site? As he ‘corrects’ Jeff, he simultaneously steals the thread and trashes Jeff on his own site. And anyone who doesn’t agree with his fanaticism is d**b, doesn’t speak English, or is crazy.
As I said, I can’t have a bit of respect for you, because you are a cheap liar. Despite what you think, you’ve never had a game with me. You only screamed. In fact you are not in my size and you should consider it an extra credit from me to even reply to your nonsense. You and those who accuse me of hating Jews and American (people), haven’t yet shown even one example to support their claim. This is despite my numerous requests to do so, if such thing exists.
Yes, I asked for a correction on what was originally posted here, and the correction was made. Then, criticizing Jeff (right or wrong) in my own blog, was exactly because I did not want to highjack his site. I did not even mention Jeff by name or his site address in my blog. But I discussed what I thought I could discuss as I see it as my right to do so. I was forced to come back to this thread because you asked for it.
You don’t want me to express myself here, and you don’t want me to express myself in my own blog. Well, too bad. Even Khomeini couldn’t do this to me and relatively speaking, you are only a fly when compared to Khomeini.
I’ve had so many discussions with many people with completely opposing views. But as long as they remained polite, with something real to say, except constant stupid and unsubstantiated accusations, we maintained a civil discussion although they were sometimes heated discussions. And I never called them, dumb, fascist, and stupid. But they case with you is obvioulsy different ;-).
Eileen,
“I fail to see how any remarks you’ve made here have anything to do with the thread other than your agreement with Joe.”
If you can’t read, I can’t help you (moment of zen: does a post still exist when written to someone whose illiterate?)
We have a resident crazy person here. Kat, how do you like your new competition?
Carsonfire,
“for whom some certain disagreements are political heresy” I thought we had discussed you attempting to explain my political philosophy. Do you see the difference in grace that we both possess. I made an assumption about your beliefs, and included an important caveat expressing that this could be wrong. You’re so ill-bred you just blunder in like a club-footed elephant everytime and create strawmen arguments about what I believe (which even then you appear to sweat to break down).
Now, cutting through your blather (please don’t ever, ever accuse Kerry of waffling after that post) “I believe too much free access to other people’s money *is* a disincentive to be productive.” what about Iraqis free access to other people’s money? what about others access to democracy? what about recent examples such as the French attempt to impose their colony on the Algerians?
“I can’t imagine having the chutzpah to write emails to Britons telling them how to run their country”
Chutzpah is making that comment while telling Afghans and Iraqis how to run their country down the barrel of a gun.
“I should be even more specific and say “leftists who prefer socialism”, who now organize the anti-war protests and all of the “entire world prefers Kerry” polls, were cheering the Soviet on.”
This right here is where we see that reading blogs perhaps may not be enough to educate one about other countries. Are you so ill-informed as to believe that the millions and millions of people who marched in Europe against the war are all socialists? Well I guess I’m speaking with someone who’s convinced that every Iraqi attacking the US is part of Al-Qeda.
Your references to no outcry over France and Russia simply post your ignorance in Christmas lights. Europe has long criticised Russia’s expansion actions, most recently over Chechenya (Bush is so idealistic, we’re always told, yet is strangely silent on those atrocities). France’s actions in Africa receive less criticism for the sad fact no one cares about Africa. You may want to read a little more than Buzzmachine and Instapundit if you want to enter conversations about the global politics.
Franky, no one could be crazier than you–you win hands down. The problem with arguing with a moonbat is that they exhibit a quality best described as “an invincible ignorance coupled with an aggressive stupidity.”
Franky says: “(moment of zen: does a post still exist when written to someone whose illiterate?).”
Zen should be capitalized. I believe you meant who is, not whose. The ) should preceed the ?. Oh, and you left off a period at the end of that sentence.
As for calling people crazy and illiterate (I am truly laughing), your cheap shots and rudeness accomplish nothing. I simply consider the source, as unfortunately I read you loud and clear.
But I already proved you are illitrate, Eileen. Aftet all, I proved you could not properly comprehend ENGLISH; your own language. Well, I wouldn’t expect better than this from a person with a 2.5-cells brain, one of which already dead.
Kat, Faramin, Franky, et al:
TAKE IT OUTSIDE.
You’re all being quite tiring. I don’t bother to read your piss contests and so I’m willing to tolerate them to a point. But enough. Act civilized. Have something of substance to say. Or take your little slapfests to your own blogs. This is my house and I’m getting sick of you rolling around on the floor in it. Behave.
I’m sorry Jeff that it got to this point. I know you don’t like how I think as I don’t like yours, but please note, I have tried numerous times to have civil discussions, but every time I have been accused of being a Jew-hater and a terrorist-lover and/or other BS like that. And not even for once I was offered an example where I showed hatred towards Jews or … . My responses, although harsh, but have been reactions to those accusations. You always remained silent to this baseless accusations, which recently came from Eileen who you conveniently decided to not clearly include your warning.
I have offered civil discussions but every time what I received was BS and accusations. I wish you had, for once, steped in and pointed out that using that kind of language is way more serious than simple making fun of. But you didn’t, and I’m not surprised why.
You’re quite right, JJ, but do look on the bright side; even if it gets out of hand, it’s to some degree because you’re very good at engendering debate and conversation on both sides. Look at how many other blog comment areas are just echo chambers of people endlessly agreeing with each other.
*just in the nick of time, catches himself from posting a long response to Franky just as we are marched to the woodshed… ah, well. ;) *
Oho, back on topic! it does look like I was right about the response of Americans to these letters:
Guardian headline: Dear Limey ***holes
Taken from Rubert McNobrain’s website: Faramin writes “America is responsible for (those murdered by Islamic fanatics and Iraqi civilians) in Iraq”.
In Faramin’s warped little world i imagine he thinks if a woman is raped while wearing a short skirt, she has no one to blame but herself.
I would say he is a pathetic little terror supporter, but that would be redundant.
Cheers.
Well, I will not even reply to the above BS which is resulted from a typically paralized imagination, however, it is interesting that Jeff remains silent AGAIN to these baseless accusations. He fails again in demonstrating fairness. I guess, to him it is ok to unfairly attack people with Opposite points of views of his own, but when those people respond, he is suddenly concerned about lack of “good behaviour”.
