: Here’s the absurd political moment du jour: Don King being interviewed on FoxNews about why he loves George Bush — and why Bush did not get much of the black vote last time around. Says Shouts Don: “The African-American does not understand the man.”
Besides being obnoxious, isn’t Don King a convicted felon and ex-con? What would the Administration want him out in front?
Can Don King even vote????
He should be able to vote just fine. After all, he lives in Florida.
Read today’s Wall Street Journal to get more insight why Don King loves Republicans. It says in part:
“Is it simply a coincidence, then, that Mr. King’s full-throated support for the Republican Party coincides with increased efforts by the Republican-dominated Congress to regulate boxing? This past March, the U.S. Senate, ending years of deadlock, gave unanimous approval to a measure designed to close regulatory gaps in the sport — gaps, critics say, that have helped promoters like the 70-year-old Mr. King profit handsomely.”
John McCain is quoted in the article:
“I think that these people that are using him cannot know anything about his record.”
The article adds:
“He (MCain) says he is concerned that his own party’s chiefs would lean so heavily on the promoter, who once served four years behind bars for beating to death a man who owed him money.”
