Did he run out of hot air?

Did he run out of hot air?

: Michael Moore started his blog… and promptly abandoned it after two entries, including:

Stopped in at the theater showing it across the street from Ground Zero. Chatted with people on the way out and answered some questions. Then the Spiderman crowd came out. A few of them weren’t happy to see me. Some guy said, “I hope they don’t put a bomb in your theater.” Such a pleasant remark considering the neighborhood we were in….

Yes, it’s true, I’m on the cover of Time magazine this week. And Entertainment Weekly. Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue is next!!

Again, he spins it wrong. There was a story, I think in the NY Daily News, that when the Spidey audience got out Moore was causing a bottleneck at the exits with all his fans. Some guy yelled out “Everyone don’t think you’re God, Moore.” And Mikey got the hell out of Dodge.

Moore is fast becoming the Michael Jackson of the Far Left.
    Heh.

Oh, God, no! I’ll vote for Kerry; I’ll vote for Kucinich; I’ll vote for SHARPTON. Anything, anything at all. Just keep Michael Moore out of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue.

Maybe he’s busy, oh, I don’t know, promoting his movie as it opens in Europe?

Yeah, they don’t have the Internet in Europe.

You mean they have the internet on computers now?

    Maybe he’s reading a book instead. =)

Jeez, the internet. Is that old thing still around?

Typical Moore, his blog is an extension of his orchestrated Hollywood road show. Our intrepid defender of the little guy has omitted having a very democratic little guy feature on his blog – a comments link. But, then why screw up by having a, God forbid, challenging comment appear in public, and, God forbid, provide a forum for democratic discussion that might reflect poorly on you.

an anti-american hate machine who is an enemy of civilisation I can live with, however reluctantly.
but this is the last straw!!!! if he goes through with this, he and his editors must be thrown in prison.
just the sheer number of people he’d render blind. this is simply inhuman!

maybe he’s busy making more award winning movies

As much as I despise the guy, even the staunchest conservatives should admit the guy can be funny. In fact, that’s one of the biggest disappointments about the guy – humor ruined by slavish devotion to ideology, good muckraking interviews and camera stunts destroyed by temptation to manipulate and distort on behalf of cheap and easy politics.
The self promotion is blatant but the swimsuit issue crack did make me smile.

I have not seen this 9/11 movie, but what interests me the most is that rather than discuss the movie all anyone can talk about is the guy who made the movie.
I understand that this is a sensitive subject and I am already expecting flames to appear on my site just for making a counter point, but it seems that if his movie is the total piece of trash that everyone makes it out to be then the best thing to do would be to MOVE ON. Instead you are acting like high schoolers and making character attacks in and effort to defame or discredit his work. The problem with this is that Michael Moore has neither been known as a bringer of light, nor as a head of the fashion world.
I did notice however that he did post all of his factchecking on his web site. If you want to persuade someone to see Mr. Moore’s work as the trash you say it is then I would recommend picking that apart. Here is the link: http://www.michaelmoore.com/warroom/f911notes/

Oh god, another True Believer. Look, why don’t you simply accept the fact that lots of people think Moore’s new film is a pile of excrement and, I don’t know, move on?

Jeff is now descending to obsessive levels. It’s just personal attacks against Moore, with not even the attacks on the credibility of the film -and god knows we’ve all read enough of those. This latest post is as helpful as the sites that simply repeat “Chimp = Bush”. Of course those sites are usually funnier.

Of course they have the internet in Europe. But writing for a blog takes time and energy. It also takes time and energy to simply read the news and form an opinion on events, which isn’t always easy when you’re busy.

you know who else has some awards is charlton heston
“It also takes time and energy to simply read the news and form an opinion on events, which isn’t always easy when you’re busy.”
Yeah, he clearly spends a lot of time forming his opinions. Very deliberate and precise, that Moore.

Moore is very big on alleging “death threats” where none exist. He has to keep the self-victimization train moving or else he might really go nuts. See his claim that when O’Reilly joked about his claim that Bush is a “deserter” (which would land him in the chair if he actually were), that he seriously called for Moore to be killed.

Moore is also big on misdirection, straw men and red herrings and you will find many of those in the above posted link to his site… Dave Kopel’s website takes them down piece by piece.

Well, it’s not a blog in the first place – you can’t link to individual entries, let alone hav ecomments or blogroll or some such. How is that different from a website? Just calling it a blog will not turn it into one…

I liked his site when he had the comments sections. The comments were very entertaining because it was usually the true believers defending against the marauding hordes.
I agree that MM does seem to have a great talent for comedy. It’s too bad he’s so in love/hate with himself and his country that he’s wasting his talent. He has the potential to be a great stand up comic. In order to achieve that goal he’d have to ditch his preachy attitude and his god complex.
I wonder if he’s so overbearing and preachy in private? If so, his wife must be a saint.

Roger, I was ready to ignore the movie but it was the media, Cannes, and the entire Democratic leadership that were building temples to liar. That is what is bothersome. I’m not worried about what he says because it can’t be any worse than any other liberal bile. Its just the insane satisfaction the “elite” have in honoring such an ass.

So far, he’s used his inner Goebbels for the Left. Now, we know, historically, what has sometimes happened to Lefties. Vide Mussolini etc. I don’t mean he’s likely to desert the platitudinizing that has made him a big rich celeb. So much invested there. But for global hilarity, what could match his inner Goebbels morphing into its “righful” place—manipulating for the other side?

As Pete Townshed said: “Who are you? Who who, who who?”
He also noted Michael Moore is a bully, and bullies do not like to hear their views gainsaid within their hearing.
