  3. Glenn Avatar

no, the u.n. won’t say a word. and neither will any of the european leaders who were so outraged by the targeted killing of yassin.

  4. Gib Avatar

Of course they’ll say a word. They’ll be outraged that Israel is so damned brutal and oppressive that the only way the Palestinians can fight is to strap bombs to adolescents.
And people will nod and say “Yes…terrible that Israel does that to them.”
And they’ll think we’re nuts when we pull our hair out after listening to it.

the answer is yes (or at least it should be): that is, if it would have been a government that told him to do so. because the UN is about “nations” (or rather, about states). it’s not about criminals and terrorists. and the only way to fight against terrorism is by sticking to law and civil rights, not although but BECAUSE the enemy doesn’t.
(and the “european leaders” surely do condemn such a crime – at least my german foreign minister does and always did.)

  6. Glenn Avatar

the last i heard, martin, the UN had PLENTY to say about the bombings in Madrid, and those were NOT carried out by any nations or states. The UN does not only deal with governments, it deals with all international conflicts, whomever the parties may be. in this conflict, the un and a good chunk of the european leaders (including YOUR Germans) have picked their side and they’re sticking to it.

Kat, itisnt muslim that is the sick dog, its the zealots. Atheist zealots murdered 100 million, christian zealots sold their daughters, raped their in laws and tortured homosexuals.
still, none of that has anything to do with really being a christian, only accepting that we all have faults is the theme there, just as islam, though it has many negative messages, is really about accepting diversity the zealots twist it, but dont polarize further, dont hate the billion of good muslims

Considering the regular frequency of Palestinian attacks, I think the UN has chosen to deal with it by issuing condemnations every so often rather than addressing each and every one.

  11. AST Avatar

Israel should have adopted this policy of hunting down terrorist leaders and killing them a long time ago. They once had Yassin in prison but let him go. They regularly trade terrorists for hostages.
Anybody who send teenagers off to blow themselves up just to kill civilians should be strung up, or better yet killed at the first opportunity. Let them die for their cause and leave the children alone.
Islam is not a single monolith. It has many strains and different interpretations. It’s only people like those in Hamas and al Qaeda that are sick cults.

Well, I can’t seem to find many of those good muslims marching against the bad ones. Where are all the good guys condemning the bad guys? CAIR screams like hell when someone speaks something they don’t like, but every day some mullah preaches hatred and I don’t hear CAIR screaming against that.
I think you can be just as guilty as the terrorists if you condone them by your silence.
Are the good muslims the guys marching for islamic states in America? Where art they?

  13. linden Avatar

McCleand, there is adifference between an ENVOY and the UN as a body. When you can show me an official unequivocal condemnation of Palestinian terror, and not a throwaway line by some clerk, then we can talk.

Just today a US veto was required to defeat a UN resolution condemning Israel for taking out Yassin, the architect of the death or maiming of hundreds of innocent women, children, freedom-loving humans. Just yesterday Israeli defense forces rescued, instead of killing, a child who had been paid $22 by Hamas, Fatah, Arafat – whoever -to kill more Israeli innocents. What kind of moral bankruptcy and idiocy allows one to fail to see the difference? Forget about moral equivalence. We’re talking civilization versus barbarism. Self-defense versus genocide.

NEW YORK (Reuters) – The UN Security Council voted overwhelmingly to condemn Israel for faking a story about Palestinians using teenaged suicide bombers.
The resolution, co-sponsored by France and Algeria, also condemned Israel’s brutal evil Nazi occupation of the West Bank and Gaza for making desperate Palestinian teenagers become suicide bombers. When asked whether each part of the resolution contradicted the other, a Council spokesman replied, “piss off, Jewboy.”
Human rights around the world have been a casuality of the U.S.-led “war on terror” since 11 September 2001, when Islamic rebels allegedly hijacked commercial aircraft and crashed them into the World Trade Center.

Faramin, just how stupid do you think we are?

  25. Faramin Avatar

    Andrea,
By mentioning the other side of story, no one is accusing anyone of being stupid. It is just fair for people to read about the other side’ story. Why do you become so defensive when a simple report that brings more to the story is introduced to you? My intention of the link was to bring the other side of the story only. Why are you so afraid of seeing what the other side says? Why do you insist that only Israelis tell you the truth?
Why restricting people to one-sided news that are coming from crapy sources such as CNN and FOX news?

  26. Kat Avatar

Faramin–all you are doing is reinforcing my belief that muslims never accept responsibility for their actions–that they are a bunch of intolerant whiners who blame the Jews and Americans for everything that they do –things that they should be ashamed of. Blaming the Jews for this makes me despise these child murderers even more–there is no hope for people who can’t even recognize that they have a problem and can’t admit that killing children and putting bombs in baby strollers underneath babies is wrong and that the Jews never made them do it–allah did. It is muslims who force little girls to become sex servants of old bearded men. It is muslims who treat girls like garbage. The Jews don’t make them do this crap–they choose to do it.

  27. Faramin Avatar

    Kat,
First of all, what makes you think that I am a Muslim? Is it because I am opposing your views? If that’s the case, then world is becoming Muslim because world is increasingly opposing views such as yours and actions such as Israeli army’s (See the recent polls in even in Europe).
Second, visit this site which is a Jewish site and read the statistics to see who is wining in the criminal race of who can kill more civilians”. If you look at it from a human prospective, then by just seeing the numbers you will see that Israel seems to be the clear winner in that, although what the loser is doing is also criminal.

  28. Kat Avatar

Faramin–I did not say you were muslim nor do I care–I only care that you condone the actions of gutblowers by excuses–maybe the Jews did it–gag! Palestinian children are raised in a culture that glamorizes violence and active participation in suicide terror is encouraged from the youngest age. No intelligent person believes that Palestinian parents and officials are “shocked” by child violence? Don’t insult my intelligence–or your own. I know you don’t believe the Jews staged this anymore than they staged the Feb.26 attempt of the 3 little kids. Don’t give credence to garbage like al jazeera.

“No intelligent person believes that Palestinian parents and officials are “shocked” by child violence?”
    Kat,
If this is the way you evaluate peoples’ level of intelligence, I admit, according to your way, I am not intelligent. Because I don’t see it so arrogantly as you do.
Palestinian Parents are devastated when losing their children just like any other parent and loss of their children as a result of violence IS shocking to them just like any other parent, but things get out of their hands as a result of frustration resulted from (among others)daily dehumanization of Plestinians in the hands of Israelis. See, my quote is again from an Israeli source; Haaretz newspaper.
We might not have any idea what frustration can do to people; to any people.

  31. Kat Avatar

The only people who have dehumanized the Palestinians are the muslims. Even mother animals protect their children. Palestinian parents cheer and celebrate the deaths of their children and revere them as martyrs.
People all over the world are frustrated–only muslims strap bombs on their kids. In Thailand today they exploded a motorcycle and injured 30 some tourists.
{He said 29 people were taken to hospital, 11 men and 18 women, most of them bar girls and waitresses working at the Top Ten club, an open-air bar next to the Marina Hotel in a border town popular with Malaysian tourists.
Police said they suspected the bomb had been detonated remotely.
Chief government spokesman Jakrapob Penkair condemned the attack, which he said was the first to target civilians in the southern violence. Previous attacks have been aimed at police or government officials and buildings.
“They are now taking aim at the lives of innocent people rather than the symbols of government,” he said.
“This will justify the government’s use of force. The only way to suppress them is by deploying violent means against them.” —-JUST LIKE ISRAEL IS DOING.
PS–the owner of Ha’aretz is a big buddy of Arafat–acted as his human shield on many occasions.

  32. Faramin Avatar

Next time I will try to bring quotes from pro-Sharon sources. But wait, then they might suddenly be called “buddies of Arafat” too.
If someone; an Israeli, considers killing of Arafat is not in the interest of Israel, and as a result decides to reduce that possbility as much as s/he can, s/he doesn’t necessarily become a “buddy of Arafat”, assuming what you said about the owner of Haaretz is true. Well, I think instead of talking about who that owner is, it is more fair to say whether you agree with what he says in that article or not Otherwise, this is and old and tired way of discreditting the other point of views about the events.
BTW, the way you people generalize and talk about Muslims, if a Muslim would say his opinions about Jews with similar manner, he would be automatically branded as anti-semite but it is ok for you to say whetver you wish and the way you wish. That by itself creats hatred… .

  33. Kat Avatar

I don’t hate muslims–I hate jihad and child suicide bombers and martyrs. I hate people who condone that. If that means I hate muslims, then I guess I’m guilty–I can not condone the teaching to children that they would make a muslim proud if they blow up and kill some Jews or infidels. I love all muslims who speak against islamizing me and who don’t want me dead because I’m an infidel. I do not want a khalifah in my country. I don’t want Israel to become a muslim state. I do not want the Hamas charter to come to fruition–if I were a Jew I’d fight tooth and nail to prevent that. If someone wanted to impose a muslim state on me, I’d not comply peacefully.
Here is a pic of Uri(the Ha’aretz guy)

  34. Kat Avatar

No, I do not agree with the article–{The dehumanization is characterized by insensitivity to the value of human life} And does he suggest that blowing up young kids is being sensitive to human life? Were they sensitive to human life when Palestinians danced in the streets celebrating 911? I know not all muslims are terrorists–however, these days, all terrorists are muslims.
    {Though no Muslim likes to be subjected to such atrocities himself, he feels a tremendous sense of pride, piety and probity when he practises these brutalities on non-Muslims as jehad in the name of Allah, who promises the highest prize i.e. paradise, for such heinous acts against humanity. Can crime be justified in the name of God? And how can a crime-loving God be respected or worshipped? The God who feels tickled when humans are tortured to glorify Him, is not Divine.Anwar Shaikh}

  35. Faramin Avatar

    Just one comment Kat,
I have seen many posts on (the hate site) Green Little Footbal in which the commentators have wished and suggested to burn all Muslims alive. I have seen plenty of that in there and many of those who made those comments, which BTW, wasn’t condemned by others, seemed to be Jewish. Does it mean that all Jews feel the same way? I hope not. But what you say about Palestinians dancing in the streets is although true, but only reaction of very small minority of them. But one-sided Western Media outlets such as FOX showed it as it was all Palestinians.
You correctly said that you would not be peaceful if somebody (in this case, Muslims) want to impose their wishes on you. That is perhaps the same reason that many Palestinians are not peaceful today.
I also disagree that all the terrorists now are Muslims. Just you need to take a good look at Sharon and his gang to see an arm-to-the-teeth state terrorism with war criminals such as Sharon on top.
May be it is too early to say anything, but Sharon seems to be under fire for the allegations of bribery as well (although, I don’t think Jeff has mentioned it in his site, but it is not surprising).

  36. Kat Avatar

Well, Jeff hasn’t mentioned that Arafat is under fire for allegations of corruption and bribery, or Canadian Chretien, either.
However, my argument is not against giving the Pals a state if they can stop trying to claim all of Israel. I think there is fault on both sides, but time and again the Pals have refused to compromise–they want nothing less than all of Israel. And can you tell me why muslims are killing innocents in all corners of the world? Is there any country on earth that is free of muslim terrorism? There is a genocide going on in Sudan and Nigeria. In Thailand muslims are demanding a muslim state. Ambon,Kosovo, Armenia, Sudan, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Lebanon ,Kashmir, Philippines,Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Algeria, Bangladesh, Lebanon, Iran – there is hardly a country that is not plagued by muslim terrorism. Why? Is it because they follow literally, the teaching of the Koran? Last week they marched demanding a khalifah in Canada. Will the US be next? Which European country will they demand to muslimize? Then they scream when people fight back.
“O Prophet! Make war against the unbelievers [all non-Muslims] and the hypocrites and be merciless against them. Their home is hell, an evil refuge indeed.” (Koran, 9:73)
“When you meet the unbelievers in jihad [holy war], chop off their heads. And when you have brought them low, bind your prisoners rigorously. Then set them free or take ransom from them until the war is ended.” (Koran, 47:4)
“The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and his messenger and strive after corruption in the land will be to be killed or crucified, or have their hands and feet and genitals cut off, or to be expelled out of the land. Such will be their humiliation in the world, and in the next world they will face an awful horror.” (Koran, 5:33-34)
“When we decide to destroy a population, we send a definite order to them who have the good things in life and yet sin. So that Allah’s word is proven true against them, then we destroy them utterly.” (Koran, 17:16-17)
“In order that Allah may separate the pure from the impure, put all the impure ones [all non-Muslims] one on top of another in a heap and cast them into hell. They will have been the ones to have lost.” (Koran, 8:37)
“How many were the populations we utterly destroyed because of their sins, setting up in their place other peoples.” (Koran, 21:11)
“Remember Allah inspired the angels: I am with you. Give firmness to the believers. I will instill terror into the hearts of the unbelievers: you smite them above their necks and smite all their fingertips off of them.” (Koran, 8:12)

    Faramin:
Sharon and the IDF are defending Israel from foreign and terrorist attacks. Israel wants peace, and would be willing to give up the occupied territories in exchange for guarantees of peace. That’s been the Israeli offer from the beginning.
The Arabs, on the other hand, have vowed to eliminate Israel. Their maps do not even show Israel; they show only Palestine. If the Arabs genuinely gave Israel peace, then Israel would withdraw from the occupied territories and there would be peace.
If Israel gives the occupied territories back, the Arabs will still attack them, just as the Arabs attacked them before the occupation of Gaza and the West Bank. The suicide bombings and other acts of terrorism will certainly continue. The occupation is NOT the source of the attacks.
Israel may be wrong sometimes, but they genuinely want peace. Most Arabs, it seems, want nothing less than the destruction of Israel, regardless of anything else.

  38. Faramin Avatar

    KA and tom beta,
It is just a metter of looking to see that anything possibly nagative about Arafat has been covered here.
In my opinion problem is not Islam. Problem is religion, all of them, that has been always a tool in the hands of the powerful to use and as a result to rule. That can be Islam, Judaism , christianity or … . Have you forgotten that Jewish doctor who went wild and massacred so many praying Muslims in a mosque? He is considered a hero to amny Israelis. Well, if they can call that heroism, they should be ready for similar acts of terrorism but against themseves. He was a terrorist too, wasn’t he? But yes, he is a hero in Israel.
About Canada, no, there was no such a thing as demonstrating to have khalifa or anything like that. I don’t know what you are referring to, but In Canada, many religious groups have certain previlages to apply their religious laws in some limited and particular matters and disputes. As long as it is agreed by all parties involved and as long as it does not effect the society outside the limits of that certain group. This is already in place for many groups such as sicks (spelling?). Recently, there has been some debates about that and that can happen to other religious groups as well. That’s all. About other places that you mentioned, I don’t know. But see, if I wasn’t in Canada, the news, the way you told, would be shocking to me. So I believe we have to be fair in reporting the news.
I won’t touch what Koran says, and whether the interpretations are right or wrong, because Koran is not my issue.
About compromize from Israel and whether Israel is truly looking for peace:
Israel was not and is not willing to give back the occupied territories. In 90s, when there was some progress, Israel is said to be willing to give back 90 something percent of the occupied territories back to the Palestinians and keep some scattered settelments in place. That means continuation of control oiver the Palestinians. This means continuation of the Israeli presence in the occupied territories. No decent Palestinian would agree with that. If someone takes your home from you and after a long fight, he agrees with a “compromize” that he would give “most” of your home back but one room on this side of the house and one room on the other side of the house (even if very small rooms), would you accept that? I sure wouldn’t.
Beside, there has been a huge issue of “right of return” for the Palestinians that has to be properly addressed.
I don’t believe Peace is what warmongers such as Sharon and Hamas want. They need violence to stay politically alive. Fundamentalist groups such as Hamas, are celebrating the continued opportunities that Israeli policies are providing them to grow. They are much more significant today than they were a few years ago, “thanks” to Israeli policies.
Just look at Lebanon and Hezbullah. Istraeli policies have made them Heros and saviours of Lebanon. This is not a welcome news to decent secular people in Muslim countries.

  39. Kat Avatar

I don’t care whether you live in Canada or not, it does not give you the right to insinuate I’m a liar–my eyes are not deceiving me.
And are you receptive to muslims giving right of return to Christians in Lebanon, the Copts, the 2 million Armenians kicked out of Turkey. In 1948, when Israel declared its independence, about 900,000 Mizrahim lived throughout the Arab world. Today, fewer than 20,000 remain. Many Jews still bemoan the land and riches that were stolen from them three generations ago. But it is not an obsession that precludes them from building new lives, as is the Palestinian way. It is the primary obligation of the government to protect Jewish lives.

  40. Faramin Avatar

Now, you are showing your true face.

  41. Kat Avatar

Yes, my true face is let’s demand of muslims the same respect that they demand of us–nothing more nothing less. If Israel can not be a Jewish state, let’s not allow islamic states. If Muslims want right of return, let’s give right of return to the Jews and Christians who became refugees in the same time frame. Let’s give right of return to the Armenians and to the Copts. Let’s stop the extermination of the Pandits and the non-muslim Africans. Let’s ask muslims to allow Christianity and Judaism and Buddhism in muslim countries. Let’s ask musims to rebuild the thousands of churches they burned in Nigeria last year. Fair?

  42. Faramin Avatar

    Fair.
The problem is that you would like to generlize things to avoid the specifics. Every point you make I address them but then you go on screaming and generilizing things.
I agree, let’s have right of return for Jews too. I prosume you are talking about them being pushed out of Europe (since you are talking about the same time frame). Well, sure, if they were pushed out, and I agree that is true, they should, no, they must have the right to return. But if you are pushed out of your home, you have no f*** right to go and invade other homes that had nothing to do with you being pushed out at first place.
You keep talking about Islam and Islamic states. I don’t care about Islamic States, as I don’t care about a Jewish state. I don’t know how I should say that to make it clear to you that Islam is not my concern as I have respect for none of the religions anyway, including Islam. (BTW, there are Jews who believe the idea of Jwish State is against Judasim, I don’t know. If you are talking a bout Jwish state, you are talking about religion, then how would yuou address their concerns who happen to anti-Zionist religious Jews?)
So, I don’t see any reasons why I should defend those you are trying to attack, although I don’t completely agree with the way you report the issues.
BTW, I wish you could expand your hmanitarian concern, that you clearly show for Jwish people, to 800,000 people who were messacared 10 years ago in Rwanda, while the screams for help by Canadian General Romeo Dellair who was in charge of small UN force, was answered by “Rwanda has no strategic or economic, just tea and coffee farms, so we will not get involved”. Yes, that is what General Dellaire says about his conversations with top western officials.
Oh wait, they were not Jews. They were just some Africans. 800,00 people? May be it wasn’t a big deal after all. Was it you who just expressed anger for burning churches in Africa? Hell with Churches and Mosques and Sinigugs (sp?), when human beings are burnt.
See, how we see the world from different prospective? Which one is more humane?

  43. Kat Avatar

I thought the Rwanda massacre was horrific–I think the genocide in Sudan and Nigeria today is horrific,as well as the stuff going on in Zimbabwe. I think what happened in Somalia was horrible too. Media seems to not want to report what happens in Africa. It wasn’t just churches burned in Africa–it was the people in them also.
And….No, I am talking about the 630,000 Palestinian, and 820,000 Jewish, refugees which were produced by the 1948 war, which was launched by Palestinians, Syria, Iraq, Egypt, Jordan and Lebanon against Israel. Can those Jews have right of return, too?

  44. Faramin Avatar

    Absolutely,
ANYBODY, I mean ANYBODY who is pushed out of his/her land, must have the right to return. And the demographic changes should not be an excuse in not letting this happen.

  45. Kat Avatar

But allah won’t let muslims get dirty among ‘sons of pigs and apes’. I see no resolution until I see a reformation of islam–islam is the root of all this terror–it is the root of the ‘Palestinian’ issue. It is the root of modern day terror. Muslim fanatics do not want to live at peace with anyone–they want to live at peace without you. As long as the PLO and Hamas strive to eliminate the Jews, the Jews will continue to eliminate them. Why make their job easier by withdrawing? Jews need to be promised a peaceful coexistence before they withdraw. I pray for that–but I am not optimistic.

  46. Faramin Avatar

It is not only Islam which is the problem. Don’t give credit to Judaism and christianity more than they deserve. They are all same crap to me. They are all anti-human and they are all tolls in the hands of the powerful. I have no respect for any of them. No one is better than the other.
My wish is to see Palestinians in their own un-occupied land again without the fear of attacks from unlished wild dogs, My wish is to see ordinary Israeli live a normal life without fear of being blown up …. and as a non-arab (I am an Iranian), non-Mulsim, and … I will continue to speak up against those who do not want to see peace and prosperity for real people but wars, whether it is Hamas, Sharon and his gang, Arab leaders or Iranian leaders, or Bush administration and his rich masters. None of them care for the people who are suffering and none of them have any regard for human life and degnity. none.

  47. Kat Avatar

Muslims have no respect for human life and dignity.. none.
And as for religion comment–if we were to tote up the casualty count achieved by those few officially atheistic regimes the world has seen, the atheists have the religionists beat by a mile. Notorious atheist butchers like Mao Zedong, Pol Pot, and Enver Hoxha killed and slaughtered their own people at an unheard-of rate.

  48. Faramin Avatar

I have nothing more to say.

  49. Kat Avatar

Neither do I–but don’t ever call me crap because I believe in Christianity. And don’t tell me that Americans have no respect for human life. If you want to speak up against wars then speak against the crap your fellow countrymen are engaged in. Clean up your own back yard before criticizing mine.

  50. Faramin Avatar

Arrogance. That’s what you suffer from.
I am sure many people believe in Islam (not me though) but you allow yourself to insult their beliefs but you think your own shouldn’t be. Guess what. My first word above is a simple yet complete definition the mentality of people like you.
You lie too, easily Mr. Christian. Show me where I said, Americans…. . I named many leaders and governments including Bush administration. I did not say Americans, Mr. saint.

Faramir, thank you for the apology but it is not necessary. I bear no hard feelings. It is par for the course. In Canada they teach America hatred. In Canada they don’t blame the terrorists for the 3000 dead on 911–they blame the US. Chretien even announced that. Sunera Thobani blamed the dead Americans and not the crazy fanatics. Carolyn Parrish referred to Americans as bastards and said she hated them. Should I be shocked by your blaming Bush instead of allah–No.
