Thank God AOL-Time-Warner does not select the President
: It would look like this mess. And Kucinich would be President.

I hate all these If-I-were-a-Lord-of-the-Rings-character-I-would-be stupid games. It’s even worse when it comes (a) to the presidency and (b) from a supposedly reputable and smart media company. This is as dumb as a Fox reality show. It’s just stupid (crime and education are paired together as issues — as if the stupid are criminals, for example).

I’ll have you know that I come out on the far left wing, by the way. Nya-nya-nya. [via Fred Wilson]

    I just did the quiz and it came back with George Bush as the top match, with a “Score” of 100%! That’s interesting given that my abortion answers were the opposite of Bush’s listed positions. (And there were several other “half-right” positions where I was strongly opposed and Bush was neutral, or I was neutral and Bush was strongly in favor.)
    Maybe AOL’s math is set up so that a candidate can “give 110%” for you?

    I got Lieberman, Kerry, Clark (!), Bush in that order. Under “Served in the military”, Bush is listed as “No.” Er, huh?

    Hmmm.
    I got “Bush, Leiberman, Clark, Kerry, Dean, Edwards, Sharpton, Kucinich”.
    Bush was 100% (though I don’t see how), Liberman 77%, Clark-Kerry-Dean-Edwards all around 60%, Sharpton 50%, and Kucinich 30%.
    My answers were different than Bush on abortion, gays, prayer in school (does Bush really want “Organized Prayer”? Does anyone?).
    Actually, I think many of the supposed stances of Bush aren’t true.
    There used to be another site, I think it was from the last election, that actually had quotes from the candidate on each issue.

    I’m John Kerry, followed by Al Sharpton (!) and Howard Dean.
    So much for me being a right-wing death beast!

    Bush, Lieberman, Edwards, Kerry, Dean, Sharpton, Kucinich here. Pretty much what I would have expected, although admittedly the answers I put in tend to reflect those of a talk radio-listening nuke-the-whales conservative, as I tend to be.

    It is unfortunate that they won’t have the ‘third parties’ enabled until after the primaries. Equally unfortnate that they don’t have more detailed budgetary and domestic policy questions. i.e. cutting federal spending, ending the War on Drugs, etc.

    This is definately screwy.
    I just got 88% with Bush and 80% with both Sharpton and Dean, with the same set of answers.

    Bush, Lieberman, Edwards, Kerry, Clark, Dean, Sharpton, Kucinich. Strange, even with such wacky questions (some of which I couldn’t even answer and could only respond with a head shake and a None of the Above), it still got the order right. I’m still not sure how one can be a jet fighter pilot without serving in the military…maybe be one for the Swiss Air Force?
    And I agree with Jeremy that conservative positions are ridiculously misstated (for example, “appoint judges who will outlaw abortions” is not the same thing at all as “appoint judges who will not uphold abortion as a Contitutional right”).
