: That nice, monotonous rhythm you hear is mine. I’m back.

: Ed Cone says: “at least nobody can accuse you of being heartless….” Now if I get brainwave arhythmia….

: Thanks for all your nice notes, folks. This really is no big deal. Just explaining absences. But I appreciate it.

: UPDATE: I just got a call from Dr. James Itzcovitz, the ER doctor who took care of me last night and had to suffer through my Consumer Reports mode as a patient as I tried to figure out the care instructions he was getting from another doctor. I had an out-of-body experience and at one point said to myself, “This is when the patient decides to take control of his care.” The good doctor just said I was a “memorable patient.” I think that’s his very nice was of saying I was an ass. Sorry, Doctor. But the good doctor was good: patient, intelligent, open. Thank you, Doctor.

“This is really no big deal. Just explaining…”. Glad to hear that, but also wondering about the out-of-body experience. Was that one of ‘intimations of (im)mortality’ moments?
I, among many, appreciate you and the postings, ranging from tech (Treo 600) to the 65th anniversary post.
“Thanks to the human heart by which we live,
Thanks to its tenderness, its joys, and fears,
To me the meanest flower that blows can give
Thoughts that do often lie too deep for tears.”
    Yes, indeed. Stay well.
