Vox pop
: I encourage you to read the comments on this blog (and other blogs that welcome them). Of course, I don’t agree with everything said there (if I did, that’d be pretty boring) and some are more eloquent than others. But it’s wonderful to just sit back and watch the dialogue that does occur. This doesn’t happen in any other medium.

Indeed.
Jeff: Now will you ping Weblogs, already? Those of us with our blogrolls sorted by most recently updated never see that you have, indeed, updated!
You’re on Moveable Type, for goodness sakes: It will do it automatically if you just click the button in the preferences one time. Go to Manage Weblog/Weblog Config/Preferences and scroll down to Publicity/Remote Interfaces. Check the little boxes. While you’re at it, add this one to “Others”: http://rpc.blogrolling.com/pinger/ -
To borrow from something my father said about running for public office: “If you want to get in touch with your shortcomings, and you want a lot of people help you do it, start a weblog.”

I’m not sure what James is talking about, but http://blo.gs always reflects Jeff’s latest post.

Jim–For whatever reason, Jeff was never showing “Hot!” on my blogroll. I’ve deleted him and re-added him and, voila!, he is now. Very odd.

And, I can add from experience, just because you’re running Moveable Type doesn’t mean your server will emit pings. Mine won’t.
