Take that, Jacques

Take that, Jacques
: I hope to hell Jacques Chirac is watching TV today.

This is what freedom looks like, weasel.

congratulations, you’ve already reached that level.
open your eyes: ten thousands of people killed or wounded and a handful are cheering – everything’s fine. the people in iraq are ages away from what we call democracy, they are even some months away from what you would call democracy. but hey – they might be starving or get killed, at least they had the chance to cheer to their liberators.

    Well said Jeff.
Vasili, hopefully the Iraqi people will not take for granted the freedoms which you so openly loathe.
BTW, you’ve got it backwards– tens of thousands are cheering, and a handful killed or wounded.

V, get *on* the level: a million died under Hussein. No longer. They are experiencing freedom now. If you can’t see the jubilation, you are blinded by something very sad.

i’ve seen hundreds of iraqis cheering saddam hussein a week ago. and the week before, months before, years before.
    so who’s blinded?
time will show whether iraq becomes a second afghanistan (freed from whatever or whoever oppressed them but still fucked) or a second germany (or japan).

Yeah, the thing everybody’s missing is that the Iraqis cheering the downfall of Saddam were being SARCASTIC.
