The last time I was in New Orleans, I was staying just blocks from Anne Rice’s house (and many other famous people) in the Garden District. This area seems to have escaped the worst of the flooding, and not coincidentally, the worst of the looting has been happening not far from there on Tchoupitoulas Blvd., where I spent more than one drunken evening. That it survived the hurricane, but not the looters, really pisses me off to no end.

I’ll bet Emirel’s already in production with FOX for a NewNew Orleans cooking show benefit, featuring dishes like:

Bush Stew (Mix of any petroleum product and freeway median grass)

New Orleans Pizza (baked vomit)
Cheney Jambalaya (maggots, piss, dirt and a touch of absestos)Yeah, what a shame about the looting of the Garden District. I imagine there are some amazing gunfights: “private security contractors” vs. ghetto boyz. Shit, I got a great idea for a new reality show. Call Mark Burnett and send 50 hand-held Sonys.
Another flash – get that Crocodile Hunter mutherfucker to host a NOLA nature show where he dangles black babies in front of some the mutant 40 foot gators and other creatures that are going to be crawling out of the toxic sludge. Since they’re black, the FCC, FOX and Congress won’t give a shit.
Anyway, there are still thousands trapped throughout NO and thousands more throughout the Gulf region who haven’t seen a soul from FEMA and who won’t be found for weeks. Even if they live, the won’t get their lives back for months or years if ever.
