: Didn’t get a chance to link to John Podhoretz’ great column yesterday taking apart Ed Klein’s effort to take apart Hillary Clinton.

Because if any book in recent memory reads as though it has been written out of greed ó a greedy hunger to separate millions of conservative book buyers from their hard-earned 25 bucks ó it is Ed Klein’s “The Truth About Hillary.”

This is one of the most sordid volumes I’ve ever waded through. Thirty pages into it, I wanted to take a shower. Sixty pages into it, I wanted to be decontaminated. And 200 pages into it, I wanted someone to drive stakes through my eyes so I wouldn’t have to suffer through another word.

: And I’m amazined Klein is still on Parade’s masthead playing Walter Scott. He’s not on a personality parade anymore. He’s on a personality perp walk.

    i’d be interested in seeing you write about how you feel about other Bloggers who accept the ad to pimp this book.
    the publisher, the advertiser, and therefore the Bloggers, are encouraging people to buy a book that says that the former President of the United States raped his wife and that incident conceived their only child.
    you were outraged that Google News helped bring attention and some legitamacy to a Nazi “news source”. why then arent you outraged at bloggers bringing attention and some legitamacy to this hateful book of slander and personal smears?

    No less personage than the author himself, Edward Klein, has debunked Drudge’s misreading of the rape story.

    thanks for the clarification Jeff, but how on earth did even Matt Drudge make the leap from Bill making drunk jokes to chelsea was conceived via rape?
    and if this is true, why isnt Drudge being the one targeted by the Clintons instead of Klein?

    I believe Hillary ghost wrote the book to get all the demons on the table three years ahead of the 2008 race. There will be nothing left for the VWRC to anguish about and this all will be very old news by then. I think it’s smart.

    Jeff,
    not sure if you saw/heard Klein on Air America yesterday with Franken.
    he was uttlerly dismantled, and for some reason he showed up without his own book.
    far more pathetic on tv than in print if thats possible.
    sorta felt sorry for him.
    but then i remembered that people on the BushCo payroll know what theyre in for: criticism from the left, embarrassing moments on tv, but pockets full of gold that will soon end up in a potters field.
