: This is awfully inside baseball, but I have to report that everyone I know in media was giggling and gaffawing today over the news that former Conde Nast head Steve Florio is going to write a book about management. The perfect media oxymoron.
No… I think anyone who used to read Spy will understand the inanity in the idea of Mr. Florio writing such a book.

Thereís another rumor going around the blogosphere that Microsoftís board of directors and their senior management team have been under covert surveillance by a ëteamí of corporate espionage ëexpertsí and that the results of the surveillance which includes taped private telephone conversations and bugged meetings and is supposed to be ëhighly incriminatingí (whatever that means) are going to be published in October.

I think it is a disgrace that private conversations and meetings between senior business executives can be published and I seriously doubt the legality of it. What protection do any of us have if we allow the private actions of important business leaders to be laid bare for the whole world to gape at?
