More podcast play

: I’ve played with another podcast response: This brief (five-minute) ‘cast takes quotes from Democratic FCC Commissioner Jonathan Adelstein’s interview with Brooke Gladstone on On the Media . It was a good interview but I couldn’t resist adding my own answers to Adelstein’s answers. I’m not so sure this one works; hear what you think.

: I wish this is what the opposition party would do to, say, the State of the Union speech. Rather than that cardboard response the Democrats gave to the last SOTU, how much better it would be if they gave Bush an audio fisking: Respond to his stands, point-by-point, back-and-forth in a podfisk!

This is a good length and file size (4.5MB).
I just listened to it on my Treo 600. It seems like you’re very comfortable doing these now. It would be better if you were having a conversation with a knowledgeable person who could challenge the points you’re making.
I don’t think the FCC can ever come with a clearly defined set of rules defining decency–there’s just too many creative ways to be indecent. And, how many shadings of intent can you define for using the f-word?
All in all, you’re producing some of the better podcasts on the Web.

I really liked this Podcast a lot. Well produced, interesting, and perfect for a subway ride to work. Thanks for taking the time to put this together

Thanks, guys. Yes, Bill, a live human would be better than a sound bite. Working on that…

Excellent Jeff. This podcast works. I would like to hear more of these. If you can get a live human to talk to that’s OK too, but I almost liked this more, maybe because I like the editorial points you are making, wich you wouldn’t be able to make with the same clarity in an actual conversation. Of course, you have the guy at a disadvantage because he isn’t there to respond to you, but that’s OK by me.

A point you failed to articulate directly: this is rule by persons, not by laws. If the individual(s) making the calls change, the application of the guidelines will change, and can flip from draconian to lax and back again without much restraint.

You’re presuming, of course, the Democrats had anything more substantial than cardboard…
