All nice and sweet cakey, probably left over from the ‘circuits section’ due to a lack of space on Thursday, yet they still haven’t gotten into the better end of Blogging = Blogs. The NYT keeps putting Blogs down, it continues to try and kill internet Journalism. Eh, even ‘Circuits’ has gone soft and cuddly lately.

    Jeff,
When are you going to pick up a microphone and Podcast? We’re waiting. You were one of the first video bloggers, why not a podcaster?

Yet more evidence of how the Internet is taking the control of media away from a few and putting it back into the hands of the people where it belongs.
People can inexpensively ‘cast an unformulaic cooking show if they want, and and have it heard around the globe. As the podcasting phenomenon grows, more and more people will ‘tune’in because they have the oppurtunity to hear what they truly want to listen to, without crappy interruptions.
During this post-election time, I am finding that everyday folk are beginning to gravitate more and more towards personal, rather than political or similiar blogs, because they want to know what someone is doing with their day 2,000 miles away in another state. That strong personal connection the Internet provides. I would imagine the same happening with podcasts. It might sound lame or meaningless but hundreds, if not thousands, will want to listen to a couple at home simply cooking dinner.
Personally, I like to end my days listening to a music podcast. The podcast is devoted to playing out-of-print records usually of the soul, funk, jazz, and sometimes rock genres. The guy who runs the site downloads his seemingly vast collection of lp’s, and his listeners get to hear these crackle and pops that haven’t been played to a wide audience in years. Music recorded about one to four decades ago that were pretty much declared dead, are now being heard again thanks to a podcast. And these–for the most part–are great songs.
