: The good news: I was on World News Tonight in Jake Tapper’s story about the FCC and the jihad against free speech. The bad news: Because of college football, it appeared only on the West Coast. So it wasn’t seen where it matters: Washington. And I haven’t seen it yet either. Oh, well, those are the breaks. Now I’ll start ranting about America’s jock jihad.
Never fear, it looked and sounded fine, although the use of the word “prude” no doubt offended Fred Phelps, Don Wildmon and countless other loonies.
The good news: The Washington that *really* matters is Washington State… and you *were* seen there.
The bad news: I was out drinking so I missed it. Damn!

I came across your blog via Frank Rich’s column today, as I am sure many others did as well. It was a great idea to file the FOIA request with the FCC to expose the extent of the astroturfing by these organizations on the Right.

I’ll bet thats it. I didn’t watch it though cause you have to pay. There is a trial version, but they still want your credit card info so they can start to bill you after the 14 day trial period. No thanks. It’s there though if somebody could get it and, like the guy above said, put it on Bittorrent or Kazaa.
You sure like to throw that word–jihad–around. There are parts of the world where jihad means beheading truck drivers and putting a slug into the head of a charity leader. In those parts of the world jihad means pushing walls on gays and chopping off the hands of anyone who disagrees with you and then carrying those hands around on a tether to ward off others who might even think of disagreeing with you. In those parts of the world, our Marines are fighting and dying to keep that jihad from reaching our shores.
Apparently in this part of the world, or at least this part of the blogosphere, jihad has a totally different meaning. Here, jihad apparently means attempting to keep full frontal nudity and potty humor away from my kid so that he can remain innocent as long as possible. But hey, keep fighting those jihadis, Jeff, wherever you find ’em and never worry that your confusion over a very serious term makes it obvious that you see everyone who disagrees with your views on any issue as some kind of jihadi. You’re such a hero.
