: I think I just heard on TV that Bill Clinton’s getting quad bypass surgery.

: UPDATE: Confirmed. Emergency surgery today. CBS details here.

A source close to Mr. Clinton tells CBS News that Mr. Clinton complained of chest pains Thursday night and was taken to a hospital near his home in Chappaqua, N.Y. Doctors, according to our source, found a blockage. Mr. Clinton is now in the New York Presbyterian hospital.

The NY Times has an alert saying he had a heart attack; no further details.

    Our prayers go out to him. I didn’t like him as a president, but I certainly don’t want to see anything bad happen to him. Here’s to a fast recovery.

    A quad bypass isn’t fun; my Dad had one in 97 though it wasn’t an emergency. He was a couple of years older, too. (64 vs 58).
    Here’s hoping for a speedy recovery for the ex-president.

    I too pray for Mr. Clinton. But above all I pray for the chidren in Russia who are victims of muslimism. 100 dead hostages–God rest their souls.

    Do you think the stress of seeing W give a great speach sent him over the edge or was not being in the public eye for a few minutes make him need to come back with a splash??

    come on, he had the heart attack after he watched Kerry’s horrid rebuttal speech last night in Ohio!
    Kidding aside, I hope he makes a speedy and healthy recovery.

    My first reaction is “Wow-! He really is Elvis”.
    Then I was wondering if it was a real heart condition or simply a great way to put some distance between himself and The Loser.
    Wife says who would undergo surgery to avoid Kerry as she dismisses my conspiracy theory du jour. I’m not very good at conspiracy theory and she reminds me.
    The Midnight-in-Springfield rally was a sad and desperate action. Who attends political rallies at midnight? People with no place to be at 0800. Students? Partiers on way home? Out of work union members? Not exactly a bunch of independents or swing voters.
    We live in a wonderful medical world of miracles. Coronary by-pass surgery in males under 60 is 99% successful. We take this everyday miracle for granted.

    You have shown many times that you are no humanitarian. You are just an opportunist who seeks opportunities to attack Muslims. Although I do not consider myself a Muslim, but your gross opportunism is offending to any functional brain.
    Yes, what happened to those children in Russia was nothing short of murder and crime, but so are what happen to Iraqi civilians who are getting killed on a daily basis by the US bombs, So are what happen to the Palestinian children who are being killed everyday by your beloved murderous Isreali army criminals.
    But no, to you, those killings are OK. Look into the mirror. How could you live with yourself? As I said you are no humanitarian but a simple and non-intelligent opportunist.

    Yes, Faramir, people like you will always excuse the horror in Chechnya but accusing critics of such atrocity of muslim hate. You are one sick puppy–this is not about religion–it’s about a slimey bunch of killers. If you want to talk about people not being humanitarian look no farther than at people who shoot kiddies in the back as they flee. I could not even kill an animal, let alone toddlers.
