: Jessica Cutler — aka The Washingtonienne — poses for Playboy.com (you have to pay and I’m not paying) and gives an interview (I just read the articles, you know).

Playboy.com: What would people be most surprised to know about life inside the Beltway?

Jessica Cutler: People like to pretend that money and looks don’t matter, but they do. It’s supposed to be a big meritocracy, but people here are just as shallow as anywhere else. The thing about D.C. is it’s not Miami or New York where there are all these hot people everywhere. I’m cute by New York standards, but when I came here, my stock just shot up fast. Also, people who have so much to lose can’t help themselves.

Playboy.com: What advice would you give to someone starting a blog?

Jessica Cutler: With a blog, you can’t expect your private life to be private anymore. You just never know. But, when you work on the Hill you find out the guy you’ve been sleeping with has told everyone in your office about it. So, what’s the difference? It’s writing on the bathroom wall.

Playboy.com: Are your blog and your novel going to be the final nails in the coffin for attractive young women being interns in Washington? What father would send his little girl to Capitol Hill?

Jessica Cutler: I don’t think so. It might encourage more men to come to Washington, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

    My God, she’s a dime a dozen Hill worker who was also a hooker (if any of that is even true).

    As a fellow Syracuse University alumni like Ms. Cutler, I can definitely say she’s a distant second in the babealicious quotent among Syracuse students who’ve posed nude for national magazines, though I suppose this may help college recruitment among male high school seniors.

    Why do people give this piece of common laundromat trash attention? To think that once Western Civilzation produced real femme fatales like Mata Hari and Mrs. Patrick Campbell; now we have the likes of Jessica “I Have But One Ass to Give For My Country, and It’s For Sale” Cutler.

    Jessica Cutler is definitely the first “blog-generated” celebrity, so there is that to claim to fame for blogs.
    That said, however, it was a phony story from the start. Somehow coincidentally a woman with a 2 week old blog coincidentally winds up on Wonkette’s blog and coincidentally winds up partying with same Wonkette within days. A woman with an “anal sex on the Hill” story falls into the lap of a woman with an anal sex fixation, and a brand new blog looking to make a name for herself. And no eyebrows were raised? For shame on that portion of the blogosphere that bought into the hype without so much as blinking…
    I don’t believe her story. I don’t believe Wonkette. Sorry, the coincidence is too much. This was clearly bogus hype designed to make a celebrity out of Wonkette and Jessica Cutler from the get-go.
    Witness the lack of follow-up by the mainstream press which covered her into what would otherwise have been the genuine scandals of political-types paying for anal sex with staffers. That’s the kind of story that papers like the Washington Post and NY Times would have been all over. Had there been any “there” there, this would have been a huge story.
    As it is, it turns out to be a case of using blogs to make Wonkette and Jessica Cutler into undeserving celebrities at the expense of those who wasted their bandwidth publicizing their Penthouse Forum fantasies.
    And living 30 minutes outside of D.C. I can tell you with great certainty that in a group of the “beautiful people” of D.C. she not only wouldn’t stand out, she’d be pushed aside for any number of better offerings. The woman’s ego is amazing, but I guess when you succeed in putting one over on the blogosphere it’s understandable…
