: A monkey in an Israeli zoo has started walking like a human. Ain’t evolution grand? But it appears it’s not walking because it’s a higher form of life:
Her veterinarian says the only possible explanation is that the monkey suffered brain damage from the illness.
If upright walking is a major differentiator between humans and lower primates…
…and brain damage in a lower primate causes that primate to walk upright
…then what does that say about the “higher” (human) primates?
Perhaps she walks this way now because it is uncomfortable for her to walk the way she used to, as a result of her past illness. She certainly can’t tell anyone why.
Seems to prove that walking upright is in the genes — even the genes of monkeys.
