Muscle me

Muscle me

: It’s not often you drive down the Interstate and see a car and ask, “Wow, what’s that?” Happened to me driving home the other night: I saw a car I hadn’t seen before, wondered what it was, and even pulled over to the right lane and slowed down so it could catch up to me.

It was a Magnum, as it turns out, from Dodge: The muscle family car.

It reminds me of my first car. A gift from my dad who’d paid $250 dollars for it in 1974 – a 1968 Ford Country Squire Station Wagon – with real fake wood on the sides. And talk about muscle – damn!!
I’m guessing the 8 miles a gallon it got would be an issue these day – properly so, eh?

I saw a white one going to work yesterday and it didnt’ look as bad or as big as they look in the car mags. Doesn’t look like it holds much in the back though. Kind of defeats the purpose eh?

I think it’s an interesting car.
But, it American. I work too hard to throw my money away on a Dodge.

You had to pull over and WAIT for a MUSCLE car? Come one. What kind of a muscle car can it be? Maybe it just needs a new driver!

“Magnum” must be Dodge-ese for “Ugly”. And I agree with Angelos; if I wanted to buy something that would eat up the bulk of my time, money and patience, I’d just get a boat.
