Thanks for allowing reader comments Jeff. Good leadership.

Thanks for the heads-up on this, Jeff — I suspect this may be the only time I get the chance to link to Glenn Reynolds (and, er, you) on my food blog.

Well, even if only for a few short hours, it now can be said:
    Instapundit is a conversation.
    :-)

First, however, he invited email on the topic. I responded thusly. Then he opened and closed comments while I was on the road. Humph.

insta got 42 comments in about an hour over the holidays on a post about pots and pans, and only a few were even remotely off topc (i had an offtopic reference but mostly stuck to the task at hand)
he does occassionally (very rarely) enable comments, and has since he started, way back in august 01. i’ve been there since the beginning (thanks to v.postrel). he had more comments at the beginnin, but he got such a large audience so fast that there was very little community there. plus, lots o people don’t like the prof much (nor do the same people like volokh, etc) and he’s highly likely to get trolled at least as much as lgf

Is there some rule somewhere that says you shouldn’t put punctuation at the end of a final sentence when writing on the Web? The poster “hey” is but one of many perpetrators.
