How come we can’t use this in Iraq for those IED’s?

interesting read. I’m surprised that israeli’s haven’t looked into using this technology on buses and other public places.

As a supposed electrical engineer (I do software, and God knows the great nightmare of a hardware tech is a software guy trying to do hardware) I find this story a little suspect: maybe it would work in just the right conditions, but unless it’s emitting an amount of power that would make flourescent lights in the vicinity glow, they have to be on just the right frequency, and wouldn’t work at all if the bombers had instead pulled a fine wire to the guy with the red button.
As far as the Israelis using it for bus bombers, the problem there is that the perps of the murder-suicides usually don’t even have a pushbutton switch — they have to touch a couple of bare wires together to set themselves off. Jamming is of no use there.
