yes, and while we are at it can you get those Iraqi children to play be the unexploded munitions? Honestly, does the press have any idea what news is anymore?

I have never felt so cynical in my life as I do now about ‘Big Media’. I understand everyone has biases and sometimes they color/drive the story. But, I figured for the most part our ‘Big Media’ wanted to honestly report the news even if it didn’t fit their world ideology.
Boy, was I dumb and naive. From the buildup to the Iraq war until now I have been amazed at the opinion and interpretation that has been given as ‘straight news’. Only an idiot could fail to see the biases in various stories.
The US ‘Big Media’ didn’t want us in Iraq and made predictions of horrible slaughter of our troops that didn’t materialize. Instead of being glad they seem upset the war hasn’t gone according to their plans.
Now the Iraqi people are in a position to let us know how they feel and what they want. There’s a huge rally, basically pro-US, and NONE of our ‘Big Media’ give it more than a paragraph.
If it weren’t for Zayad and his camera, we would be unaware of the size of this rally. I’m not a journalist, but I think this is a story a true journalist would love to cover. There are so many angles to it. It would be a great page 1 story.
So, why no page 1 story here? Zeyad’s pictures show there were western journalists there. Why didn’t they think this worthy of a page 1 report?
Sadly, I conclude it’s because the story didn’t fit the journalists’ views about the US and the Iraq war.
Had the protest been anti-US, it WOULD have been page 1.
More and more we rely on the internet for our news because we can’t be sure which story was overlooked because it didn’t fit the journalists’ political agenda.
To make mattters worse, these same journalists deny any bias about the reporting of the news. They don’t see what is crystal clear to the rest of us.
    PS:
I’m not looking for stories that ONLY show the US in a good light. I would like the truth. If it’s something that makes the US look bad .. report it. If it’s something that makes the US look good .. report it.
    Don’t filter. Report.

Raed at Salem Pax’s place says this:
One day .. TWO MASKS ..
    THE FIRST MASK:
The Iraqi translator, coming to a secondary school at AlAmryya to help “them” arrest students. Students don’t have the right to go on demonstrations.
Americans came with pictures of pupils, list of their names, and arrested them FROM THEIR CLASSES. The headmaster couldn’t speak a word.
    THE SECOND MASK:
The Iraqi Fedayi (one of the fedyeen) running after journalists in one of the demonstrations happened at Adamyya in Baghdad, preventing anyone from taking pictures of people marching there …
He shot one of my friends .. Wasif .. in his foot.
Too many things happening the last couple of days, it looks that the capture of Saddam started something.
