Dean speaks. Oy.
: Howard Dean’s statement on today’s news:

WEST PALM BEACH– Governor Dean issued the following statement this morning:

“This is a great day for the Iraqi people, the US, and the international community.

“Our troops are to be congratulated on carrying out this mission with the skill and dedication we have come to know of them.

“This development provides an enormous opportunity to set a new course and take the American label off the war. We must do everything possible to bring the UN, NATO, and other members of the international community back into this effort.

“Now that the dictator is captured, we must also accelerate the transition from occupation to full Iraqi sovereignty.”

Damnit, the UN didn’t capture Saddam. Old Europe did not capture Saddam. NATO did not capture Saddam. The coalition did.

The American label is on this war. Proudly. We got rid of a tyrant and murderer. And now we are about the hard work of bringing security to Iraq and rebuilding the nation and creating a democracy. We’re not going to cut and run.

No Weasels needed, thankyouverymuch. In fact, they are a singular danger to any and all efforts to rout out the troublemakers around the world. They have become irrelevant.

It was quite amusing to see Chirac and Schroeder attempting to insinuate themselves on this major success. I hope the peoples of those two countries finally wake up what it is that’s leading them.
There was also a brief snippet of George Galloway seeming hopeful that the ‘Iraqi resistance’ would continue the fight even with Saddam out of the picture. Maybe we’ll hear a bit more about what that scumbag was up to.

Could we at least consider getting other nations to pony up lots and lots and lots of $$$$$$, so we can use some of our $$$$$$ earmarked for there, here in the USA. As a taxpayer with a pothole in front of my house, I’d appreciate it. Just kidding – I really want to spend 87 billion tax dollars in a foreign country, I am privileged to do so. It’s not about the money.

Hmmmm… it’s been a bad 24 hours for the International Left. First the EU thing goes poop then Sadaam is captured. (Remember, the whole idea of the EU for some people was to build a viable, leftist superstate to counter the US “hegemon”).
I had a wee chuckle this morning when I re-read a very left wing Scottish column , written a day or two before the air raids on Bagdhad began last spring…
It makes the whole London demonstrations during George W’s state visit seem even more ridiculous.

I don’t disagree with the course of action described by Gov. Dean. I disagree with the mission being described as a something new. Bush has continuously sought and received the support of the international community. The Iraqis are on course to govern themselves. At the appropriate time, we’ll ease our way out.

The depths of the moral /ethical degeneracy of France, Germany and Russia will be revealed when Saddam spills his guts on the connivance of these countries.

    What’s a Democrat?

What Dean, et al., really need is a Democratic roadmap.

Yep, the left is in a serious tailspin over this one, heading straight for the ground, and since they’d have to pull a little to the right to even out, they’ll plow into the graveyard of history soon enough.
I promise I won’t be as visual in the future :)

Dean’s “yes but” comment, combined with Kerry’s “yes but” praise are two reasons why — after voting Democratic/Progressive all these years — I’ll be pulling the hammer for Bush. Despite the cramps his domestic policies give me, I am not willing to see my nation’s security put into the hands of these mental midgets.

ah, yes, my anonymity renders my points useless…your lowbrow career and political naivite don’t matter because i don’t use my real name…trust me, you don’t want me to use my real name, you know me too well, it would not do your career any good….

    To anonymous “bush”:
Your anonymity is laughable. Your supposed success is highly doubtful. Not many successful people type as poorly as you do……I doubt you could influence anyone’s career, most notably, your own.
Yes, we know you. You are some silly liberal teenager who instead of working wants a free ride from government. Screw you.
