Ultimate product placement

Ultimate product placement
: Howard Stern’s show this morning has the ultimate product placement: Stuck on You, a movie about dumb-and-dumber conjoined twins, will pay $20k to a listener who succeeds in spending a week handcuffed to the worst Stern Wack Pack member they could find: Jeff the Drunk. They spent the morning winnowing down from 11 eager contenders to one: a mom who says she has to get out of debt and pay for her heart-patient husband to see a doctor. They rejected a hot chick because Jeff would enjoy it too much.

: While we’re giving you the morning Stern report, Howard hints that his girlfriend, model Beth Ostrosky, will sue Don Imus for his hiring a Jayson Williams impersonator to say he had sex with her, which led to the on-air fight between Stern and Imus (in which Imus, wheezing wimp, couldn’t take the heat and just hung up).

Why not recommend Stern have her equipped with a treo and have her weblog the week?

You couldn’t pay me to go head-to-head against Stern. If I had been messin’ with his chick- even worse. I’d just leave the country.

Maybe, I am missing something, but it seems to me Imus was just pulling a Stern-like stunt.

Actually, although Stern and his minions do childish pranks, I’ve never heard them defame anyone; and the show is good about letting someone give their own side (even if it is to allow them to hang themselves by their own words).
Imus is just mean and cranky.

…well, except for that FCC commissioner back in 1991 who Howard wished would die from cancer he had contracted because of the FCC’s fine against Infinity over an incident on Stern’s show.
Basically, they may hate each other, but stuff like this is good for both their ratings, and with Opie and Anthony off New York radio for now due to their St. Patrick’s Cathedral stunt back in 2002, Stern doesn’t have anyone else to feud with in the NYC market (Stern with his greater cloud within Infinity-Viacom got CEO Mel Karmazan to ban O&A from mentioning Stern’s name on their show before they were taken off the air; if and when they return, it could be on a Clear Channel station in NYC or on XM or Sirius satellite radio, where any ban would be off).

From NY Post Page Six – Tune into Stern’s show tomorrow to see if he makes good on his threat to reveal sordid secrets of Imus’ daughter, Donna.
I hope Imus doesn’t apologize, so that I can listen to what Stern’s got up his sleeve. Imus is such a woooorm, such a weeeasel.

I listened for a bit this morning but heard nothing. Oh well.
