I was wondering when someone was going to notice that unbelievable white-washing of French publishing related to 911 in the NYTimes. There is quite a bit of French “literature” released since 911 that is inflammatory to say the least. The Guardian’s had numerous articles about books published in France.

This book is just so tacky. Hate to imagine how the families of those who died in that restaurant will feel about this book. Has anyone notified the spokespeople for the families what this book is all about?

instead of making it up, one could read the transcripts. he must have set these scenes on 106, as the air was gone early on 107.

It’s ’bout as tasteful as making a pro-Nazi porno flick in Auschwitz. But I’m just this dumb American, not up to the level of sophistication of this so call ‘novelist’.

‘the only way to know what happened in the restaurant at the 107th floor of the north tower of the World Trade Center on September 11 2001, between 8:30 and 10:29 AM is to make it up.’
Someone send this freakin’ a-hole a copy of the Port Authority radio communication transcripts. Maybe he can see for himself what reality actually was that day. -
How about a delightful little tale about certain
militant activists who attack L’Oreal’s corporate
headquarters for the founder’s pre war support and post war harboring of Vichy War criminals

I guess cultural sensitivity doesn’t apply if you’re rich and white, and especially if you’re American. Though I have to wonder where the lower income janitorial staff characters, for example, show up in this book, or maybe just the characters that don’t seem like they fell out of a Melrose Place spinoff. I couldn’t see any in the excerpts I’ve read, but maybe there’s a depth, a sobriety, and a greater historical accuracy in the rest of the book…

“What the hell is wrong with these people? Is this what passes for talent to the idiots at the Times?” Asked the man who wasn’t wearing Kenneth Cole.
-
Sort of second-rate Bret Easton Ellis. Very 1980’s.

Of course, the characters just had to be wearing tacky American brands like Ralph Lauren. They deserved to die because they weren’t wearing Lacoste. This is disgusting.

The Times’ piece is by Alan Riding, their man on the cultural scene in Paree. I doubt this guy could put a hit piece on a prominent French author like this and keep his access. Who knows what his real feelings are? Do we know how to spell REIFICATION?
How this book will actually be reviewed by the NYT is anybody’s guess. That will depend on who does it. -
This guy is just a sicko.
I’ll tell you what was going on according to my friend’s sister who listened to her brother suffocate, there was panic and slow painful death that day.
There wasn’t enough air to breathe let alone make love.
I would like to put this guy in a burning building to see if his first priority is an orgasm while discussing designer labels or escaping, stopping yourself from burning alive and finding an air pocket so you don’t suffocate.
This guy is one sick mother f-er.
