As pretty as it is to think so, there is not a shred of evidence that I have seen demonstrating that Europeans are annoyed by Arnold running for guvnah. In fact, I heard an Economist editor on the radio put it quite well: The European Union is full of Gray Davises — dull, bloodless technocrats trained to spend tax dollars. Most Europeans, he argued, would love to have a little entertaining populist zang in their elections, instead of the same old corrupt frauds. Also, they love his movies. And, um, he’s European.
