: Alterman keeps coming back to the argument about attacks against Jews in France (see my earlier post about rationalizing hate here).

Suppose we even “recognize that the Arab-Israeli conflict has anything to do with our problem”. Does anyone believe Islamists will quit whining after the establishment of a Palestinian state? The total destruction of Israel wouldn’t suffice.

i assume that saying “let’s go out and attack iraq today because… (we phantasize about saddam having an awful lot of weapons of mass destruction and about him supporting each and every terrorist)” was something completely different, right? it wasn’t hypocritic at all, right? it wasn’t about rationalizing the hate and the evil behind it, right? oh dear…
