James has taken the road less travelled by chosing not to go ‘legal.’
The ‘spiritualized’ language in this lawyers letter is pushing some major buttons in me.
“Hey, we’re all in the same club, but cease and desist brother,and you’d better go in peace and do it my way” is shameful and pathetic.
I also don’t think the lawyer and his client read blogs much. Thanks. Blog on! -
I, too, am troubled by the letter that Bible Geek – sorry, Theologian Guy – received.
If someone were to send me a “sibling in Christ” letter, explaining the situation and their worry about the possible confusion, I’d probably listen and do some thinking. I might even change my moniker.
If someone were to send me a “cease and desist” letter, explaining the situation and the possible consequences, I might listen. Then, again, I might just dig my heels in.
I think Theologian Guy has taken a very respectful path. I also think that the Bible Geek (TM) needs to do some pretty deep thinking. This letter may very well have alienated a group of people that might have been part of his readership.
