I guess discipline is out of the question.

Classic. Now I just have to call my brother and ask him when my nephew shot that commercial!

    I disagree. Not funny.
This is an anti-parenting message. The message to every parent who has endured a 5 year-old doing the same thing in the last 24 hours, which in my experience is every parent of a 5 year-old, is that if only they had not had the child they would not have had to endure everything they did during the tantrum. The message to everyone yet to have a five year old is don’t…our product will help. This ad demeans parenting, a noble vocation worthy of our veneration, not condemnation. It is the ONLY essential to our future. Unlike “educators”, the cost of “homemakers” is not included in GDP nor is the cost of parenting. But what do educators want? Better parents, though they do precious little to prepare them.
When you said funny, I thought after the child became a public nuisance, the dad would give him a swat on the bum, repeat no, and they would go off with the old lady whispering thank you. That would have been funny, because it would be so unexpected.
