Women of war, the war of women
: This is the war when women arrived, not just fighting side-by-side with men but becoming the most visible heroes. There is, of course, fight-to-the-last-bullet Pfc. Jessica Lynch. And I just watched a great CNN report about a brave pilot named “KC” whose plane took many hits; it is riddled with holes, big and small; she lost much of her control and debated whether to eject or struggle back to base. She made it back to base. And now she’s being interviewed: calm, cool (and, by the way, beautiful). At the end of the interview, the reporter tells her to tell us at home what “KC” stands for. With a proud grin, she says, “Killer chick.”

“Killer Chick” is the daughter of a San Jose, CA city council member. Heard it on the local news at lunchtime today. Apparently her plane was shot up pretty good, and what the newscaster failed to mention is that she must be one hell of a pilot.

Do you have a link to that story perchance?

Unfortunately, I can’t find that CNN put the story up online. (They should. I wish they’d put up the segment on blogs where I appeared. I could have linked to it. Like newspapers, TV stations should be putting up segments. But they usually don’t.)

CNN has posted an interview with a woman F-16 pilot. Meet Thumper. Check out the “Related” box below the sidebar on the right for more pictures of this pilot and her jet.

this is an appropriate war for women to participate in, given that yesterday or the day before also saw the release of children from jail; they’d been placed there for not wanting to join the ‘saddam wannabes’.
….let’s hear it for the chicks! -

Note to other dictators:
Our women can kick the ass of your ‘men’….
Think about it. -
Just as we have “Kick-Ass” men that have not lost their humanity, we have beautiful women that can “Kick-Ass”! Ain’t this a great country?
It is unfortunate that we will lose some of these fine people because other *free* people couldn’t bring themselves to stand tough against a tyrannical dictator. Never forget!
I think the 21st century will produce many more battles for democracy. It would be a lot better for the world if -
Of course, there will be some who will hear her nickname and think “Those bloodthirsty soldiers!”
I saw the video of those snaking A-10s above Baghdad. That was something. Flying one home without hydraulics — that’s something else. Remember the Karen Hultgreen business? Women don’t have the physical capacity to withstand the changing G-forces and control a plane? How times change.
And let’s not forget Samantha Sheppard. What a classic photo that is. -
Folks…Thanks for the excellent selection of links in these comments!

I am not sure where I seen it, but I read a part of a discussion of the impact of female fighters on the arab mind-set. We all know the respect women have in a lot of arabian countries. They are now seeing that their macho men are getting beat by our women. YEEEHAAAA! What are the women of these countries thinking?
We live in interesting times.
