: Well this will be a fun meeting:

French President Jacques Chirac and U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan are to join Russian leader Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder at talks this weekend in St. Petersburg, the Kremlin said.

Of course, they will keep firing pot shots at us. F’ ’em.

I’m a bit surprised that Schroeder and Putin are meeting with the other two; they’re cagier politicians and you’d think they’d be hedging their bets these days.

Do they really want to set themselves up against the United States in the future?

Do they really want to find themselves thus defending North Korea or various Arab tyrannies?

    putin, anan, schroeder, and chirac. Sounds like a bad comedy team. Must be laying out the framework for their role in the rebuild of Iraq. How much will each of them get of the proverbial pie? anan is pathetically trying to keep his cushy job. chirac and putin trying to ensure all those billions of dollars of ILLEGAL deals they made with the Butcher of Baghdad are upheld. schroeder ensuring germany gets its share to help shore up their failing economy. Pathetic. I’m surprised iran, syria, turkey, and saudi arabia haven’t been invited along to help carve it up. Bastards.

    I’m really rather worried about these countries. This is delusional behavior. (Must be all the stress – see below!) Apparently, in spite of the US stepping across the line they drew in the sand, they are going to try to draw another line. Reminds me of Bugs Bunny and Yosemite Sam. And we all know who got blown to “smithereenies”.

    i hope germany doesn’t get its share of the profits out of rebuilding iraq, too. giving a dozen times as much money as receiving seems to be a really bad deal. as a tax payer in germany, i can imagine better things to do with this money. boosting our economy, for example. ;-)
    and i guess the americans aren’t very keen on paying higher taxes to finance a mad bunch’s adventures throughout the world, either.
    it’s not that asshole in baghdad or the europeans, that is the biggest threat to you: it’s the present resident of the white house and his advisors. they are ruining your country – morally, economically, politically. you’ll recognize this quite soon.
    but don’t worry, you’ll still have true friends throughout the world, then. just give us a call and we’ll try to help you as you helped us years ago.

    How you doin? Just wanted to respond to your comments regarding my President and his administration. First off, I realize the european community hates Mr. Bush because, and this is just my opinion, he speaks too clearly. He doesn’t speak in the double talk of his predecessor, bill clinton. You must understand that no President since Roosevelt has had to deal with a direct attack the magnitude of September 11 on America. This has a way of changing things. The United States, I’m hoping and praying, will no longer turn the other cheek, so to speak, when attacked. Whether on its shores or overseas. This administration has been dealing very effectively with what its been handed. I am so very glad we have a President and administration who are willing to do want must be done instead of one, like bill clinton and his band of merry men, who were too busy making a mockery of our country and our morals to give a damn. As for our morality and economy, not to worry Vasili, we shall prevail. We’ve been down this road before and will overcome whatever obstacles are placed in our way. You probably shouldn’t wish too much economic disaster on us, as our economies are directly linked, so if our ship starts to sink, so would germanys. I do agree with you that germany should keep its DB’s off Iraq. God Bless America, our troops, and Mr. Bush.

    Hmmm….. bin trying to think of a time when any country came to the US aid, in the past 300years.
    Nope, can’t think of any. It has always, always been one-way traffic.

    why do you think i could wish a disaster on you? i’m far from that. when i told you that europe (and especially germany) will be at your side whenever those monkeys occupying the white house will have ruined the country, i was completely serious. and so are many of your friends in europe.
    and it’s true. we don’t like bush. we had too many of those guys here in old europe. we’re tired of them, you know?
