Stupid Hollywood
: The Oscars called off the red-carpet arrivals because we’re going to be at war. Now that’s dumb. Why is it more offensive to give dumb interviews to Melissa Rivers than to give dumb speeches to billions? Same difference.

That’s outrageous. The only reason most people watch the Oscars is FOR the arrivals! Thank god the people who run the entertainment world are not running the rest of the world.
I suspect this is going to cause a major scandal in the photo industry, because certainly SOME photographers will be allowed photo rights at the entrance. As at the Grammy’s, will it onyl be PR-friendly agencies?

I second that. I maintain a website that has a lot of images of Hollywood fashions past and present, and the Oscars are *the* occasion every year to see the actresses at their fashion best and worst. What’s even worse, I saw in another report that some actresses are even considering dressing in _tuxedoes_ (a la Marlene Dietrich) as a backup. Gah. -
