Dear Jacques…

Dear Jacques…
: You can email Jacques Chirac and tell him exactly what you think.

When you do, please leave a copy in my comments.

Here’s a letter to Chirac from an Iraqi in the Iraq.net site:

Dear Mr. President

As an Iraqi, I am very disappointed from your decision of supporting Saddam by giving him more time.

What happen to the freedom that France believes in or that is only good for the European people?

: And here’s where you can email Gerhard Schroder.

Tony Blair doesn’t have email yet. But you can fax him. From outside the UK, the number is 011-44-2079250918.

We, the people of the United States, will NEVER forget, forgive or excuse your betrayal of your Western Allies in order to court the favor of the murderous bigots of Islam. You, and your cowardly people, have in the course of one mere month managed to convince tens of millions of Americans of the worthlessness of the Nato alliance and the futility of the League of the United Nations. For this, we American patriots thank you…
Your craven submission to your own Muslim population, while hardly surprising given your peoples history, acts as a signpost for other nations that would think to allow the terrorist race entry en masse into our countries… for this we thank you also.
However, we cannot and will not ever forgive your deliberate stalling of the war to liberate Iraq in order to allow the butcher Hussein more time to prepare ambushes for our brave boys, as well as the massacres of his own people he will undoubtedly perpetrate and attempt to blame on America…. YOU have the blood of uncounted innocents and liberators on your hand, as well as on the honor of your cowardly, despicable bigoted people.
May God almighty forgive you… BECAUSE WE NEVER WILL… Goddamn your arrogance, your vanity and your petty gallic souls to hell.

1441 affords Iraq, by this resolution, a final opportunity to comply with its disarmament.
The Government of Iraq shall provide to UNMOVIC, the IAEA, and the Council, not later than 30 days from the date of this resolution, a currently accurate, —-full, and complete— declaration of all aspects of its programmes

The 30 days are up. Blix admits they have not fully complied. This could not be simpler. You are a worm. Your betrayal of The UN and The US will never be forgiven. I do not consider you an ally and I hope you join ranks with Iraq in the coming conflict.

    Mr. Chirac,
The unbelievable intransigence that you and your countrymen have shown in the drive to rid Saddam of his WMD has infuriated many more people in this country (US) than I think you realize. The French need us a lot more than we need the French. What was the last good deed that France committed? Let’s see the British ended the worldwide slave trade and the US defeated the Communists as well as helping save Europe in WWI and WWII. Our Marshall Plan helped rebuild your arrogant little country. As I’m sure you know, this is the 200th anniversery of the Louisiana Purchase. I’ve seen it mentioned on CNN that there is an open invitation to both you and President Bush and I’d like to take this opportunity to disinvite you. You may think that Louisiana and New Orleans (where I live) are more Franco-friendly considering our French heritage here, but you would be wrong. You and your people are a blight upon the Earth and it will be a pleasure to watch as your reckless gambit yields you a wrecked economy to match the wounded pride that your country is so inept at hiding. I am not buying any French products and you will be suprised at the end of the year to see how many others have done the same. You and your countrymen have dug your own grave, soon you will have to lie in it.

    Mr. President,
Your recent behavior in support of Saddam Hussein is appalling. And the evidence now surfacing that you and your government have been supporting Iraq in violation of U.N. sanctions belies any suggestion that France belongs among the civilized nations of the world. I look forward to the day that Iraq is liberated and the long time French collusion with Iraq is revealed. I will enjoy watching as you are called to answer to the European people for your misdeeds. I suspect the day when all the world recognizes how unimportant and marginalized France has become will soon be upon us.
I shall no longer consume or make use of French products, nor shall I travel to France or any of its colonies. That money shall be directed toward freedom and peace loving nations.

For over 40 years your county has sought to balance what you call American “hyperpower”. From your on again/off again relationship with NATO to your self appointed tutelage of the EU to your current “altruistic” intransigence over Iraq in the UNSC.
As an American citizen and a person of French decent: Shame on you sir. You may camouflage the self-interested policy of France with hypocritical posturing for “peace”. You can use your unearned, ill deserved and hopefully short-lived Permanent Member status on the UNSC as a cudgel to thwart us “diplomatically”. For now

I have long admired the French nation, its culture, and its history, starting, for me, on 11 October 732 when Charles Martel stopped Abd ar-Rahman and his Saracen Muslims on the road to Poitiers. Then, the Franks were the shield and sword defending European civilization.
But now you are terribily wrong in your position on Iraq, very wrong. So obviously wrong that your motives are suspect. Unfortunately many people will pay a very high price if you maintain your position.
The U.S. will defend its people and the world will change, with France, or without France. May God help France, especially if it is discovered that you have betrayed your few friends.

    Mr. President,
I find it hard to understand how you can possibly support a terrible dictator like Saddam Hussein, who murders his own people and supports terrorism, while at the same time blocking the efforts of your longtime ally, the United States which freed France from the Germans not that long ago.
The parallels between the 1930s and today are very clear. Imagine the death and destruction that would have been prevented in France and elsewhere had the world not appeased Hitler in the 1930s. Appeasing Hussein may earn you the goodwill of the Arab nations, but it will lead to further death and destruction as long as Saddam Hussein is in power. Please try to think of the benefit to the rest of the world that will be created once Saddam Hussein is out of power and his brutal regime has been replaced.

    Dear Mr. President,
Here is a new dictionary definition for you:
French (french), adj. 1. Of or pertaining to France or its inhabitants. 2. Perfidious.
You must have incredibly strong reasons to defend Saddam Hussein if you are williing to dismantle NATO and render the UN Security Council immaterial in order to do so. It is manifest that Saddam is a liar and a murderer. It is manifest that Saddam has flaunted 17 UNSC resolutions over the last 12 years. It is manifest that Saddam will never voluntarily disarm. It is manifest that the only reason UNMOVIC inspectors are in Iraq today is the presence of US and British forces on his borders. It is manifest that the inspectors are seeing only what Saddam wants them to see.
It is also manifest that France’s vote in favor of UNSC Res. 1441 was a cynical ploy to give more time for Saddam to prepare for war.
You have no idea how much enmity towards France your actions have engendered here in the US. It will NOT blow over soon. Remember what Yamamoto said after Pearl Harbor. Look it up!

    Dear Mr. Schroeder,
I am really at a loss to understand why you support Saddam Hussein. Given the fact that Germany under Nazi rule in WW2 gassed millions of people. Then, in the later part of the 20th Century many German firms (some illegally yes) sold chemicals to Iraq. Then Saddam used those chemicals to create weapons of mass destruction to gas his people, some say in excess of 1 million.
Given Germanys past and the restitution Germans have promised the world, where is your moral stand? I AGREE with Peace but if it means that we allow people like Saddam in the world what good does peace do in eliminating dictators?
We need a strong UN to deal with these people, I am sure you agree. As the League of Nations failed to act when Hitler was advancing his influence and violating the Treaty of Versaille. Given this fact I find it very hard to understand why you support Dictators like Saddam Hussein! What happened to your promise to not let people like Hitler once again influence the world !!!

President Chirac, please give up this childish game of promising a veto of any resolution that would otherwise pass on disarming Iraq by force. Listen to the voices of the Iraqi people, who know how horrible war is but who see no other alternative when their “leader” is an unrepentant, murderous fascist who gasses them, tortures them and tramples their human dignity. You are not helping Iraqis by preventing war; you are continuing their enslavement. You ran against a fascist in the most recent French election, so why not run against the fascist that is Saddam Hussein and support his forced disarmament?

    Mr. President
I am so glad that my Huguenot ancestors were able to escape your country alive so that I might have a better life free of one of the most cynical, petty, and undeserving nations on earth.
Please make no mistake, my dislike of the French did not begin with your latest antics aimed at wounding a truly proud nation. Your people have always been rude, arrogant and unable to maintain the normal regime of hygiene that most of the civilized world entertains. I remember traveling in Ireland some years ago when some of your citizens refused to listen to warnings and fell of the Cliffs of Moher. The overwhelming consensus among the multi-national crowd at the B&B I was at was, “Well at least they were only French.”
The myth in this country that you all actively fought against the tyranny of the Nazis is truly a work of brilliant fiction. I have an uncle that to this day regrets being wounded within your borders to help “free” a people who were all to willing to collaborate with murderers. I see that again the extermination of the Jews is not far from your mind.
You are truly a people of spineless collaborators with no concept that while once you were legendary, you are no more than a footnote in the history being written today. You want to attempt to marginalize the U.S., fine. But ask yourself who will bail your sorry touche out when once again you are unable to handle your affairs as men. Of course as the current state of the EU develops it will be pleasing to see your duties once again performed by a resident of Germany.
    Sincerely,
    B. Courtney

    Dear Mr. President:
I am extremely disappointed in the position you have taken with regard to the situation in Iraq.
We in the United States have been a willing ally of you and the French people for many years. Had it been your country that had been attacked on September 11, 2001, rather than ours, I assure you that we would have been fully supportive of you as you took action you deemed appropriate in response to that attack.
I do not understand why you and President Schroder in Germany are not INSISTING that Mr. Saddam disarm immediately rather than resisting my country’s efforts to make that happen. It seems to me that if all the freedom loving nations in the world were standing against him in a unified manner, that would help prevent having to use force to disarm him. I feel that the dissent created mostly by you and President Schroder simply give Mr. Hussein the impression that if he refuses the U.N. Resolution long enough, that we’ll all just get tired of arguing about it and leave him alone.
What can you possibly be thinking that would make you unwilling to help us deal with an individual who, by any stretch of the imagination, is a danger to all the people in the world who desire to live in societies unafraid that they will be attacked by some madman or the madmen he encourages and supports?
I would urge you to please reconsider the position you have taken.
    Sincerely,

    Mr. Chirac,
I just want you to know that Americans are on to you. We know what you’re doing and why, and we won’t forget. We know you’re trading illegally with Hussein. We know it’s all about oil — the secret oil and business contracts that FRANCE has with Iraq. We know you’re scared to death that once Americans and Brits get in there, we’ll find that you’ve been selling Iraq parts, chemicals and weapons that are highly illegal.
We also know that you’re scared to death of Muslim revolt in your own country. Frankly, I can’t wait until there is a Muslim revolution in France. I hope the American government provides you with precisely NO help when it happens. What if 9-11 had happened in FRANCE, Mr. Chirac?
You should also know that what you’re doing now won’t work. You’re destroying the UN — but it’s no skin off America’s nose. Your actions will hurt France a lot more than it’ll bother America. Because unlike France, we truly are a world power, with the military hardware — and men and women who don’t surrender at the drop of a hat — to back up our stance. France remains a world power only in your own mind. You’re a paper tiger, and too vengeful, petulant and prideful to realize that you’ve just set aflame the paper.
They say Americans have short memories, but we’ll remember this. We’ll remember how you’re willing to put — and keep — American military men and women in harm’s way while you play your diplomatic games and protect one of the world’s worst dictators. Well, the game’s nearly over. American and British forces will be in Iraq within the week. And once the war is over, please don’t expect that France will have ANY ROLE in the rebuilding or in the establishment of an Iraqi DEMOCRATIC government. No more lucrative oil contracts for France. No more pseudopower at the U.N. No more pretending that France isn’t a third-rate country with a first rate mouth.
Enjoy this moment in the world spotlight — it’s your last.

As a citizen of the US I can only marvel at your current efforts to abort a liberation of the Iraqi people. You feel no need to offer a deadline for an end to their suffering…a sure sign the people of Iraq are not at the center of your concerns.
As you make an international spectacle of yourself running around the world trying to thwart the US in its honorable intent remember that the people of the US are fully aware of your longtime support of the most despicable dictators in Africa and your selling, to a Stalinist dictator, a nuclear reactor in a country dripping with oil and natural gas.
