A proposal: Estate taxes and children

: Been working on the will lately; heckuva way to spend a day off. The scariest part of it is, of course, worrying about your children and how they would do without you. And this inspires a humble suggestion for a change that I’m sure everyone would endorse, no matter what they think of estate taxes:

All estate assets should be exempted when they are inherited by a minor child.

The point is obvious: A parent should be able to assure a child’s welfare until he or she reaches majority and that child is certainly more deserving of the money than the government.
