The Daily Stern

The Daily Stern

: NEXT SHOE: Broadcasting & Cable says the next fine against Howard Stern will for $1.5 million against Viacom for the same fart noises that got Clear Channel a $1.75 million settlement – on top of the reported $550,000 fine for Janet Jackson’s titanium. The FCC’s point is long since made; this is nothing but harrassment. Viacom knows this is coming; that is why it’s all the better the company just gave the finger to the FCC by adding Stern to nine more markets. [Thanks, Ernie]

: CAT FIGHT: Stern started the show this morning slapping John Podhoretz for calling the Stern bloc “the latest bit of political nonsense.” John writes about the anti-Bush campaign screaming campaign going on, which I wrote about yesterday, and I was in sync with him until his Stern slap.

But as Stern says, the Post doesn’t like Stern. When this latest FCC jihad began, I proposed writing an op-ed for the Post. They wouldn’t take it. They don’t like Stern and now that he’s anti-Bush, they especially don’t like him.
