The king of the tinfoil hat army
: Left-wing loon and Labor MP Michael Meacher puts on his tinfoil hat and writes a doozy of paranoid fiction that is beyond stupid and beyond offensive, it’s just plain evil. The Guardian prints it and then runs a faux news story about the ruckus raised.
Meacher accuses the U.S. of knowing that the 9.11 attacks would occur and allowing them to continue — killing 3,000 of our own citizens — only so we could attack Afghanistan, take over the Mideast, and — you knew this punchline was coming — get more oil.
Given this background, it is not surprising that some have seen the US failure to avert the 9/11 attacks as creating an invaluable pretext for attacking Afghanistan in a war that had clearly already been well planned in advance.
For shame, Guardian, for shame.
: Michele has more to say. So does Harry. Bill Herbert has more to say in the comments and so do I, replying to a few tinfoil-hat lieutenants who came marching by.
See Jeremy, too, for a little background on Meacher and the truth.
