    Say it ain’t so. He’s not what he used to be, but Dave’s got miles to go. Wouldn’t blame him for stepping down after so long, but it would be a huge loss.

    David Letterman is a perpetual 12 year old boy. The same gleefully wicked sense of humor. He’s like the child who’s just discovered how to shock and dismay adults in ways he never could when he was younger.

    Dave is the Trickster, the 21st century coyote, the post-Chuck Jones Bugs Bunny. He’s Bugs liberated from Chuck’s self-imposed morality.

    Think of David Letterman as our version of Wodan Betrayer and you’ll have a better idea of what he’s up to.
