God’s revenge against mobile phone users

: A scientist says mobile phones reduce sperm counts by 30 percent.

MEN who regularly carry a mobile phone could have their sperm count reduced by as much as 30 per cent.

Those who place their phone near their groin, on a belt or in a pocket, are at greatest risk, new research has revealed.

The findings, to be presented at an international conference this week, are the first to suggest male fertility could be affected by the radiation emitted by mobile phones, also long suspected of causing cancer.

The study by Hungarian researchers found the sperm that did survive exposure to mobile phone radiation showed abnormal movements, further reducing fertility.

But Australian experts advised men not to panic yet.

Or it could just be that guys who wear dorky belt clips for phones get less action.

I’d say your hypothesis is a lot more likely.

What if a guy uses cell for phone sex…? you give and you get? I thought studies indicated no ill effects from cell phones…this would suggest otherwise. Is this why women spend so much more time on their phones–nothing to lose or worry about?

Hm, I dunno, I wear my cell phone in the trouser front pocket (which is pretty close to the groin region, innit? not dorky though), and I nonetheless can’t complain about a remotely boring situation regarding action…
But then my sperms were not part of that research

    sperm count > “action”

Yes Jeff maybe you should stop carrying a mobile phone.

I recall there was some concern that TDMA based systems (like GSM) may be more likely to have adverse health impacts than CDMA based systems–the idea is that TDMA has short bursts at higher power than CDMA which is more continuous but lower power. So when I read articles like this, I’d like to know if they controlled for this. Australia, like the US, has both GSM and CDMA cell systems in place, although I’ve read that GSM has a larger market share.

    Jeff,
    did you get my email?

Ah ha! The Chinese population explosion problem solved! I knew technology would come through.

A standard Luddite stunt is to suggest sexual disfunction associations. Usually they are full of shit.

So in a couple of years we’ve gone from brain cancer to low sperm counts, yawn

Only by complete fruitcakes. That “research” was fully discredited. Tying it to this discredits this, too.
