New York, where fads become cliches

New York, where fads become cliches

: Lockhart Steele says: Beware The Lamp.

  • I hate those things. When I buy a lamp to put in the corner, it’s because I want that corner illuminated, not the one on the other side of the room.

  • They don’t become cliches … they become things to be used as subway defense systems … you beat the idiot who’s trucking it home about the head with the thing while shouting “NO IKEA!”

  • What’s wrong with Ikea? They sell other lamps, some I would not mind having in my own home. We can’t all afford to shop at Ethan Allen.
